Sounds like something done out of compassion - not malice! Maybe he was begged by his partner to do so - although how anyone could ask a loved one to do that - knowing the potential consequences for them is beyond me!

But someone has the right to decide if they want to end their own life - and if they ask someone to end it for them, because they can't - that is their choice! One of the reasons we have murder trials is to try and determine these things. You don't get to commit homicide and later tell people it doesn't need to be investigated.. after all you are a reporter so... just believe me.

Actually police do have to investigate that possibility. They will also investigate his claim it was an act of desperate 'mercy killing' to.

I'd be worried about you investigating crimes and accepting his story because you feel he is gay and cannot be wrong.

I don't think that - but I think that everything points to it being a mercy killing. Of course it would have to be investigated - but I think my view is far more likely than yours!
