Have you never been in a church?

and if so so you wonder what goes on?

setanta 17-02-2010 04:24 PM

My favourite time to go into a church is when there's nobody about oddly enough. Well, you always get one or two praying at anytime but I find the whole atmosphere so relaxing and theraputic when there's that silence within the cathedral or church.

I've only been to church when the school's forced us to go, and my grandmother's funeral. I'm not a Christian.

do you know what happens in them generally?

Churches are beautiful. I only visit them to admire the architecture. They smell really bad though. Like death.

I dont think any churches smell of death. If you have smelled a fetid decaying corpse perhaps you would agree.

I have. And churches have the exact same stench.

Stacey. 17-02-2010 04:36 PM

yep, i have been to a church !
But, not very often... just on special occasions:)
Like weddings etc.

Jessica. 17-02-2010 04:37 PM

I love churches but I only go on Special Occasions, Christenings, Communions, Confirmations, Funerals etc..
I used to be an alter girl though :D
I went to a convent school so we had lots of masses and prayers too.

Firewire 17-02-2010 04:42 PM

Been about 3 times, for Family christenings.

I'm not a Christian.

Where my boyfriend used to live, every weekend the local church used to have these crazy raves. It was surreal.

I've always dreamt of turning one of the old cathedrals into a kinda gothic techno nightclub. Think it would be class.

I doubt anyone has never been into some sort of church, what with weddings, funerals and the like. I used to go loads as a kid, dunno why considering my family isn't religious, and then a bit with my school as well.

Being non Christian, I have attended church services only for Weddings and funeral.

But many times to church hall (charity sale, dancing etc.)

GypsyGoth 17-02-2010 06:47 PM

I've seen the inside of a few touristy ones. They are kinda weird places.

Im Catholic and im supposed to be there every Sunday, my whole family isnt like that.... my grandad and gran were very holy and went every week. I go there:

Christmas, Easter, sometimes Palm Sunday, Weddings and Funerals. I do go on the occasional non celebration day, like once or twice a year.
