'Enders Ben is new killer favourite
Friday, February 19 2010, 11:08 GMT

By Daniel Kilkelly, Entertainment Reporter

Ben Mitchell has become the surprise favourite to be revealed as Archie Mitchell's killer in tonight's live episode of EastEnders.

The unlikely suspect, played by young actor Charlie Jones, now has odds of 11/4 with William Hill following strong support from punters over the past 24 hours.

Yesterday's favourite Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky) follows closely behind at 7/2. The troubled character being unveiled as the murderer would also be a shock as he has been absent from screens since January 2009.

Jean Slater (5/1) and Becca Swanson (6/1) are the next two biggest suspects in the betting.

Meanwhile, Ronnie Mitchell's first love Joel Reynolds has now made a late appearance in the market with one gambler placing a substantial bet on the character at 33/1. Since the bet, William Hill have slashed his odds to 7/1.

In other news, Dot Branning, Heather Trott, Minty Peterson and Ian and Jane Beale are currently the main outsiders, with each being available for bets at 100/1.

EastEnders Live airs tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
If I turn out to be right then I'm considering myself a *****ing genius since I've been saying Ben for weeks.

Oooh its so bloody exciting!

I hope it is Ben.

Arneldo 19-02-2010 02:07 PM

I've still got £5 on Wellard.

MissKittyFantastico 19-02-2010 02:08 PM

I bloody well said it was Ben too!

Now he can **** off back to acting school and stop making me want to hurt someone everytime he's on screen if this is true

:laugh2:

Gemmer-x 19-02-2010 03:26 PM

i'd just LOL if it was Ben... it's a bit silly really.

Smithy 19-02-2010 03:27 PM

ROFL, if it was ben that would be the biggest fail ever

Firewire 19-02-2010 03:27 PM

I'd love it to be Ben.

Braden 19-02-2010 03:28 PM

Which is why everyone would laugh and love the show more if they added this bit of comedy to it.

Its just hilarious the thought of him the little gimp, killing a 70 year old man who everyone hates but dont have the balls to kill.:joker:

He might of pushed it over, if it is him I hope they do like a flash back scene of that night from his point of view.

It can show Archie on the ground with the toy, and then we can see Ben walking in and pushing it and then running away.

Braden 19-02-2010 03:33 PM

Ben didn't even have the guts to tell his dad Stella was bullying him:joker:, in my opinion it would be stupid for it to be him, but you never know.

In my opinion it would take force to actully hit him over the head and kill him, if it was pushed it would only injure him,but we shall see.

The bust was pushed over, not picked up and thrown. Anyone could have pushed it over so Ben's not a stretch.

I'm afraid he went to doggy heaven quite some time ago. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

It's a big heavy solid metal object, pushing it over onto somebody's head would be enough.

I remember it just being pushed over, you saw it topple over in the reflection of the snowball.
