It's a total rip off. Sure they had a Native American as the chief of the smurfs in it. Plus it has elements of The Mission and Dances With Wolves in it too.

But yes, the film is very similar to Pocohantas in many ways. But it's still a very enjoyable film with dazzling production values and some very underrated/unrecognised performances. It's not the number 1 film of all time for no reason.
