Ive just given up on ICT now and I dont care

When I joined my college I said that I wanted to do Media, Film and Photograpghy, but they told me to pick up one more, I really didnt want to, but they gave me a small range of subjects and i picked ICT, during teh first month I was trying to get rid of it. But they wouldnt let me.

So now, I have a huge unit in for tomorrow for due date, and I have done about 50% of it, I did most of the information but didnt put it in my E-Book for my website, and I dont care anymore.
Ive told my parents that I hate it so much, and that they should expect me to fail ICT and that Im not bothering any more.

Im going to focus on my Media, Film and Photograpghy which i actually like, my parents wont mind if I fail ICT because i hate it and was gfoing to drop it at the end of the year anyways, so i can do the 3 i chose to do on my 2nd year.

Thing is im not even worrying, Ive given up completely. ****ty ICT!

You dont understand, I have the lowest interest in ICT possible. Rock bottom low. Its ****, I dont want to do well in it, I dont need it in my life, I dont care for it, its unbelievably annoying, I dont want UCAS points for ICT, Its wasting my time and my life, I have no desire at all to get me to even bother. I would want to get UCAS points for subjects i enjoy learning about.

I did ICT for AS last year having not done it for GCSE so I was pretty much screwed from the beginning. I got an E at AS which they said was good, but I knew they were spewing **** so I quit it last December and it's been a lot easier on my other subjects. I couldn't work spreadsheets, I couldn't work databases so ultimately, like you, I just gave up.

The idea of a 10 hour exam which I'd probably fail anyway was horrific.

You should try and quit it. It was the best decision I made in school last year.

im doing ict and have no interest in it. It is boring as **** and a hell of a lot of typing but it is the easiest subject i do and im going to get an A in it now and to be honest i wouldnt get into any of my unis without it

suck it up

exactly, I can do the information and write pages on something... but when it comes to Spreadsheets, Microsoft Excell and designing websites, Im completely lost.
I want to drop it, I said to them at the start of October and they said I couldnt (even though everyone did, I had 27 people in my class in September, I now have 8), that prove show bad it is.

I cant quit now, I have 2 months until my final exam, which Im going to flunk. After my exam in May-ish, beginning of June, I will drop it for defenite.

yeahh, just do what you can in the exam then quit it. it still gives you some ucas points, like tom said.

And you can just conveniently miss it off your CV, its not as though you're lying about that qualification, you're just not claiming to have it

Im sorry, I disagree. I dont see how i would benefit from continuing a subject that actually makes me feel terrible and depressed.
I dont see how people can do this if they hate the subject. I will have the same opinion, its unlikely i will go to uni, but if i do, it will surround the media/film or journalism, something I can actually excell in.

My parents even agree with me, if im not happy with the subject, why would I want to continue with it? They know how much I enjoy my other 3 subjects. For me, Im sorry but if I hate it and find it boring, there is no point whatsoever.

what did you find so hard about database?

Working around it mainly. I couldn't even do the basics of importing properly, let alone creating stuff like forms and relationships. It's not like I could go to the teacher either because I was about 3 months behind in c/w.

Defenitley, my cousin who is 26 still does this. He did so well in his A levels except for a subject where he got a U.... he completely missed it off his CV, so on his CV he has 4 A level passes all at A's and Bs, and he has an absoloutley brilliant job now.

I did the same, i passed 9 out of my 10 GCSEs A*-C, Business i got an E, and I didnt feature it in my CV at all, so people will think its non existant and that i didnt take Business.

I will do the same for ICT.

Exactly my case, I dont even ask help from the teacher as Im months behind, so since November I have stopped asking him for help, I get my mates help me out with the basics.
And yes, I was doing Forms and Relationships in November time, well i didnt really, the class did, I just sat there spinning on my chair waiting for my lesson of Media/Film/Photography because they are great lessons.
