My family sucks sometimes:/
 

Why oh why, do family members not understand that going to gigs is a something i enjoy.
like my sister she had a go at me 6 days ago for wanting to Que for like 5 hours for YMA6's gig,then she had a go at again for wanting to go to their signing. Then today both her and my mum try to get to not go to any gigs again, they say "why do any of the bands you like need anymore money", "it pointless going because you and the other fans are giving the band big egos"
I'm just like wtf i can do whatever i ****ing want, and went to my room.
I hate my family sometimes>_<

Aww Emily. They are in the wrong and seem very judgemental. They should support you and be happy that you are happy! It is not like you are on drugs or anything.

People (me inc) get angry when others do not conform to their likes. Its life. You do it too. The issue here is that there are 2 sides. Going to gigs is fun and why do they need more money.

If you can see both sides. You win.

ah my mum's the same telling me and my dad to stop being so obssesed with the football.
she wouldn't understand though as supporting cardiff is something i love, passion and loyalty to the club.
it's the same with you and your gigs emily, it's something you enjoy and they should be accepting that it's something you love x

Why do they need more money? Emily's mum or sister, whoever said that comment is just being sly!! Who cares. Emily enjoys the music, enjoys the band and wants to see them live which will make her super duper happy! As long as Emily accepts what her mum and sister likes.. then they should accept her interests too!

Every family has something they want to complain about. I want to change college course and my dad is acting like I just announced I was a heroin addict or something.

My parents were fine with my concert thing but I doubt they would have been when I was your age. Plus I did spend all my own money on it.

is it your parents who pay for you to go? if so then they have a point

Don't you feel as though you're being a little harsh? After all, I assume the money you're spending on tickets is your parents money... You don't strike me as someone who has a part time job. She has every right to be offended if you're continuously buying tickets to gigs, although her argument is a little weak. Not sure where she thinks they get the money from :P
