It is the most widely used connection in everyday life,
yet its form has barely changed since its birth in 1946.
The UK’s standard
three-pin plug – the world’s bulkiest mains plug – is ripe for reinvention.
Now Min-Kyu Choi, a South Korean-born London-based designer,
has radically redesigned it to fold flat – an idea that gained
him the Brit Insurance Design Award at the Design Museum on Tuesday night."
