Mrluvaluva 20-03-2010 08:05 PM

Maybe I'm infected?

Patrick 20-03-2010 08:06 PM

:S

Maybe someone tried to set up a phisher on TiBB but it didnt work in the end.. thats the only reason I can think of, but then it doesnt explain why Harry got it and no one else.

I dont know why anyone would want to Phish for Passwords on TiBB its not as if its popular like Twitter,Bebo,Facebook or Youtube were getting the passwords to an account could ruin your social life in ways..

GypsyGoth 20-03-2010 08:10 PM

What's a phisher?

Jack_ 20-03-2010 08:11 PM

When you set up a fake website, and disguise your fake website for a Social Site.

Thousands of people come to log into the Social Site, but the 'Log in' box is a fake, and when they type in their usernames and password they are brought to the Real Social Site.. unknowen to them though that when they click 'Sign in' they are infact clicking 'Send' and sending their Log in information to the hackers email account.

It is an amazing thing, and alot of people have went to jail for doing it on big websites for faking people.

It is a very hard thing to set up though you have to get a Web Hoster and if I recall, theres alot of Web Codes you need to get from the original website in order to make people think the site they are logging into is real.

Obviously there's nothing on here which asks you to login to an account other than this forum.

I can't repeat this error though, I have tried with Internet Explorer.

What anti virus/security program are you using? Also what version of windows and Internet Explorer are you running? Depending on the set up you use, it may not actually be the website you are viewing but one that isnt even shown in your browsr window because it was blocked. It could also be one of the advertised links that have caused the alerts, I would check your security programs help pages etc.

Sometimes some programs will show false positives there are many causes for this.

Other times you could be infected by malware and its a warning that will flash up a few times then ask if you want to download an anti phishing program.

If it isnt repeated again and you are sure you have decent security on your machine, I would just put it down as a false positive, it happens,
