Probs just a spam mail that talks in the 1st person to fall into the trap.

Only other way to find out is to click on the link with the email (Though be warned when clicking 3rd party email adresses)

No i mean the to adress, it normally would say your adress if the email has been sent to you.

You were probably included as a BCC address (more info here).

I've been getting these emails too - just mark them as junk then delete them.

It could have one of two causes, the person who its came from has at some time allowed their contacts list to be accessed by a certain group that use memberships of news group to promote their service.

Or the person who sent it has an infected computer and its simply a generic email thats automatically sent to everyone on their email contacts list.

Used to happen a lot on MSN and hotmail last year, a message was passed from an infected contact to your own computer, you clicked on a link they sent and they had access to your contact list. Then when others off the contact list went online they in turn would receive that click on link message. All the while some spambot is sat gathering email addresses etc.

If you have the option when you view the email click on view source, if not right click on a blank area of the email and click on view source, this will allow you to see the actual email address used to initiate it or the routing up to a point.

It's a virus, it's been around ages. People leave me offline messages and stuff with it on MSN.
