Donny Osmond has a pop at Gaga sex video

"LAS VEGAS - Donny Osmond isn’t happy with Lady Gaga’s new “Telephone” video, which features Beyonce.

The racy video — the full length of which features Gaga in a womens’ prison and sees the pop star kissing another female inmate, writhing about in a prison yard, dancing in a bikini and a bit of semi-nudity (her bum) — has angered the most recent “Dancing with the Stars” champ.

“I’m all for freedom of speech and against any form of censorship, but all I know is that I’m a parent and I’m upset about this,” Osmond said on Wednesday during his “Donny Osmond Show” on radio."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gaga uses sex to make her money but has zero thought about what she is encouraging. Teenage sex problems, disease, unwanted babies is a huge problem to the UK.

Donny has a point and says it well, what a pity our politicians do not.

Maybe we should elect Donny to the Office of Censorship then, coz thats what you are advocating LT isnt it, censor anything that offends your christian sensibilities?

Ever thought of moving to a less liberal society? What would you have our politicians do?

Where would you draw the line? Some aspects of life are quite scary, for example when I was younger I had nightmares about a semi naked man hanging on a cross of wood. He had been impaled with a spear, nailed to the cross and they had forced thorns into his head. While this image does show how man can be inhumane to fellow man dont you think youngsters should be shielded from such images of violence? Or is it okay in this particular instance?

It would be fairly simple to censor internet videos form music companies that release online for all to see.

Its also relatively simple to supervise your child and use products like net nanny, cyberpatrol etc. Hey if parents were really bothered they would get of their butts reserach child security and possibly even use the inbuilt security features of windows and Internet browsers.

Well done Donny Osmond! Way to get people curious about the video! DOnt they know these are the things that drives people to actually watch the video, and make it more popular?
Madonna made her career out of pissing off religious and prude types!

He is entitled to his view. he is not a religious prude he is a dad worried about his children, he does not want them to see crap music.

Tom4784 26-03-2010 11:43 AM

Ugh he needs to get a grip, like Wildcat says he's basically giving it free advertising.

No, he is highlighting the fact that children should not watch this tacky video and millions of parents will not stop children from viewing it. Well done Donny.

GhettoSuperstar 26-03-2010 12:00 PM

I think it's good for him to have an opinion against the world wide craze that is GaGa and her deluded followers.

Yes but in doing that he has also given it publicity, people who wouldnt normally have watched it will now view it to see what the controversy is about.

Illogical irrational arguement. You can hardly class a video that you claim as being in bad taste etc as being in the same class as ethnic cleansing, inhuman treatment of others and war crimes.

I claim the free prize for spotting todays proof of Godwins Law.

If Osmond was so concerned about standards in pop videos should he have just generalised about what children could see without naming names, mind you in doing so he also received a bit of a publicity boost for his show, so it cuts both ways.

Yes and earlier when you compared seeing Jesus on the cross to this video, that was what?

I caught you out lol, you walked right into it:devil:

Far from catching me out you made yourself look a pratt. I didnt compare jesus on the cross to this video, if you read the thread properly you will see I asked where you would draw the line on disturbing images available to be viewed by children.

I am so glad to note you had the intelligence to see the irony in your arguement in support of greater censorship for disturbing images available to children. And also to fully comprehend what others were saying about parental responsibility and the tools available for this.

Oops no you havent.

What's so bad about it really? The skimpy clothes? then what about every other music video in existence? Or is it the gay kiss that's really the problem? You're not helping yourself in the 'LT is homophobic' argument....

There's nothing controversial about that video, sex is everywhere these days so the outfits shouldn't be a problem, It's 2010 so people really need to get over being offended at same sex relations, I heard much worse swearing on the playground as a kid and there's much worse violence shown on TV most nights. There's nothing really bad about it.
