the grand national horse race < should we ban it ?

the joe is thinking no < i was mucking arould with pen and paper and i put this togther on today big event. i hope it makes everyone on thisisbigbrother message board laugh.

poetry corner is going to win the grand national

you may not have heard of the rider,
and think racing and poetry wont compete,
at £1 million to £1,
not many have a betting office receipt.
so what do we no about the rider,
The Joe is his title,
the spelling and punctuation is disgusting,
a shake up is vital.
the horse is his savour,
it dose just stride,
watching it run,
shows this horse has not suffered his riders divide.
it started off well,
3rd place until the third jump,
6 horses down,
poetry corner with not even a bump.
second fence and poetry corner did wobble,
but he's still standing,
fence 3 is the open ditch,
but its all safety on landing.
number 4 fence is a breeze,
everyone is on top form,
just like jump number 5,
but preparing for jump 6 storm.
over bechers brook,
where horse racers no the importance,
if anyone is doubting this fence,
captain becher did show its significance.
jumped 7 is named after a winner,
the 1967 foinavon done it first leap,
there's a slight collision,
but luckily poetry corner did keep.
onto the canal turn,
fence 8 dose have its difficulties and its gain,
experienced jockeys no that,
its all about the angle and the horses lane.
poetry corner is in 4th place,
and jumps valentines brook with power,
i love this horse,
kisses are what i am going to shower.
fence 10 is done easily,
up and over real quick,
followed by the booth,
a 5 foot fence and a 6 foot whole that's sick.
westhead is tricky,
but fence 12 was a joke
the sweat coming off poetry corner,
joy it must provoke.
now a long run to jump 13,
but second time is where there is danger,
just like the 14th,
familiarity should have been a stranger.
now poetry corner is onto jump 15,
a 6 foot fence and a ditch also known as the chair,
The Joe is ridding for his life,
at this point there's no poetry to share.
water jump is the 16,
and it is long,
then all over again,
these riders and horses are proof they belong.
the last 494 yard run is hard,
and brings this race to a closure,
poetry corner has not got a clue,
him and The joe have never had so much exposure.

no way!
the Grand Nationals great :)

WOMBAI 10-04-2010 07:14 PM

Maybe - as I understand that horses die in these races every year! That is what I have heard and, if true, then I personally think it is cruel and should be stopped!

hello womai < hows you ? i see what you are saying but you can see that horses have accidents on normal roads < should we ban them from there < horses get hurt while on police duty < should we ban them from there ? i think its all about keeping it in proportion as horses train all year for this race and are able to do it. so the joe is disagreeing with the wombai lol hope we are still big brother message board lovers lol

I'm fine Joe - just worrying about those poor horses! I'm not one for horse racing I'm afraid - so would not normally be bothered either way - but as it is dangerous for the horses - that tips the balance in favour of stopping it for me. We will have to agree to disagree on this one!

Good morning, Joe, Wombai. Hi everyone.

I just remembered somebody who was my former boss's boss.

We used to do office bet, may be £1 each and this Grand National was one of them.

This person always joined all other bets except this one because of cruelty.
Statistically the GN accident rates may not be large, but for him it was against his principles.

I do not mind as long as I do not see them hurt, but I am afraid it is like I am meat eater and I do not mind as long as I do not see them slaughtered.

Beso, I normally do not bet.

I buy £1 lottery though.
Certainly I do not bet on this election, it is too close.
