Nighty Night (BBC3 Show)
Any other fans here? :bouncy: This is without a doubt the best comedy show in years. Series 2 started earlier (Tuesday 10.30pm) on BBC3, and the repeat is on right now. If you've never seen it before, give it a go. You really won't regret it.

cant say ive ever heard of it:shocked:
|
Well check it out next week, then. It's got a massive cult following, the critics love it and it's won a shed-load of awards, too.
|
whats it about? lol
is it same sense of humour as the office? |
I couldn't really say. Much as I like Ricky Gervais as far as stand-up is concerned, I never was a fan of The Office at all.
It's black comedy, I suppose. Not as wacky as The League Of Gentlemen though, and actually there are a lot more laughs in Nighty Night. It's only on for half an hour, anyway. You'd get a far better idea of what the series is like from actually watching it than reading about it online. Some of the awards the first series won: Winner of the British Comedy Award for Best New TV Comedy, the Rose D'Or Award for Best Sitcom and RTS Television Awards for Best Situation Comedy or Comedy Drama and Best Writer – Comedy. |
i dont mean to be picky, but this should surely be in the tv chat forum?

I heard about this, but cant say ive ever watched it

A lot of people have said I should watch it.... i may well tune in when it's next on.... is it the type of thing you can just pick up or do you have to watch the whole series?
|
Well, you wouldn't instantly know the character's backgrounds and stuff, I suppose. But I still think it would be funny even without that. I literally had tears streaming down my cheeks when I was watching this week.
|
I thought it was ok at times, but a little offensive in the first series.
|
The same could be said of Fawlty Towers, Little Britain, The League Of Gentlemen, Brass Eye ... the list is endless.
|
brass eye was a great comedy. did you see the child abuse one? classic.
i dont rate little britain either, but fawlty towers nowadays isnt offensive although back in the 70s it may have been. do you know of a show called love thy neighbour or mind your language? they were offensive shows in the 7os that centred around racism, but got huge audiences. |
*BUMP*
