I really want to watch this. It does look really good.

Mrluvaluva 02-05-2010 09:58 PM

I watched the trailer earlier. It seemed quite true to the original. I am quite interested to see the new version because the original was bloody scary at the time, although not by todays standards. Remakes are not generally well percieved by critics who have seen the original. Maybe the reviews are biased. I keep an open mind until I have seen this version. Maybe it will surprise me.

Well the remake of Friday The 13th was amazing. Just as good as the original if not better, obviously due to todays technology and stuff. It still had the same creepy effect and unexpected jumps.

Patrick 02-05-2010 10:02 PM

I heard this movie goes behind the story of Freddie, I heard they wanted to make him scarier so they cut the jokes :(

They also said they look more at how he died and if he really was guilty of the things he was ment to of done to the kids.

Sounds good, although im not that fond on the new look of Freddie.

Ross 02-05-2010 10:03 PM

I can't be bothered to do research but why did they burn him? Obviously something to do with children... did he molest them or just kill them?

The difference here though is that the original Nightmare is a classic of it's kind: intelligent and brilliantly made whereas the first Friday the 13th was just a serviceable scream fest. I think this new one is bound to be a clanger.

If it aint broke, don't try to fix it.

Well we'll have to watch it for ourselves and see. No doubt we'll probably have to agree to disagree but hey ho, that's life.

Disagree about what? That the original Nightmare is a classic and Friday the 13th is just so-so?

Well yeah because I prefer the original Friday the 13th to A Nightmare On Elm Street.

Ok, then we're definitely disagreeing here.

Ross 02-05-2010 10:25 PM

Which is what I said in the first place :S

setanta 02-05-2010 10:27 PM

Not really. I just needed a wee bit of clarification. Yeah, but Nightmare is far superior on every level.

Ross 02-05-2010 10:28 PM

Okay cool.

Apperantly in the originals, he killed them.

In this one they are going with the molest plot and that he use to be a school janitor.

They story is about us trying to guess if hes guilty or not, and I think he comes back to kill because some kids or the parents lied about him.

Oh ace, thanks Paddy.
Yeah I think I'll pre-book this tomorrow and go see a Late showing Friday evening. Come out in the dark then, preferably after midnight... I'll proper cack myself but nevermind

Callum 02-05-2010 10:34 PM

The original Nightmare will not be beaten but Perez said it was good so I'll probably go and see it.

setanta 02-05-2010 10:35 PM

I actually want to watch the original Hellraiser now. Haven't seen it in years but I remember it being very graphic and scary.

Tom4784 03-05-2010 12:56 AM

I liked the original and I've heard mixed things about this one, it'll probably be a Sky Movies job for me. I'm not expecting much though, the only recent horror remake that was as good as the original was Friday the 13th and that's not exactly a hard feat.
