will C4 keep the rights to BB?

i remember somebody saying that itv still have the rights to pop idol or something like that, so can c4 keep the rights to BB, i hope they can because then that would stop any other low budget crappy channel from getting BB, and then c4 could bring BB back in years to come, i think it needs at least 5 years to recover

BBpwn 03-05-2010 05:49 PM

i hope they can keep it so if they decide to bring it back it will be on the same channel

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 03-05-2010 05:52 PM

yeah coz if some other channel like watch gets it they will ****** it up, i have watch on now and scream if you know the answer is on.. i want to kill myself lol

BBpwn 03-05-2010 05:54 PM

i think they will realise axing it was a mistake and will bring it back

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 03-05-2010 05:56 PM

axing it wasnt a mistake it really did need a long holiday dontcha think

BBpwn 03-05-2010 05:59 PM

yes but i mean axing it forever there is nothing wrong with a break

Shasown 03-05-2010 06:03 PM

No channel 4 didnt produce or have anything to do with its development.

It was thought up by Endemol, an international TV production company.

Channel 4 simply air the program, that is all. The contract to produce and transmit between Endemol and Channel (respectively) expires at the end of BB11 and follow on shows(like BBLB and BBBM)

I still don't understand why they axed it. It was still bringing in bigger ratings than a high majority of c4 programmes anyway.

mrmarky 03-05-2010 06:10 PM

I really Hope Sky decide to take over the format, however broadcast the show via SKY3 with multiple live feeds via red button, BBC don't want to touch the show and ITV & Channel 5 are strapped for cash plus channel 5 wont be able to offer any live feeds.

I think to be realistic Only sky have the money and ability to make it interactive like before, if SKY do take it and place it on SKY1 we can kiss goodbye to it.

My honest opinion I really think this will be the Last BB11 (Summer show) but channel 4 will carry on with the Celeb format, But there is always hope.

Something to do with racial bullying etc, if Channel 4 could have dumped it then without penalty and without having to pay for a replacement believe me they would have. Plus they feel it has reached the end of its life currently.

Because sky only have 9.6 million active subscribers and you would need to be a sky subscriber to watch it.

Patrick 03-05-2010 06:21 PM

I wouldnt say it needs 5 years to recover, it depends on how well BB11 Does I would say bring it back in 2012 or 2013.

Yep and because of it being free to air, sky would make only the advertising revenue, which doesnt look that lucrative, does it? If it was Channel 4 would have renegotiated a new contract for rights to air.

Yeah Sky would have to do something like broadcast it on Sky 1 and then repeats on Sky 3 or somthing like that but no doubt they would do a Offer on Sky HD for Big Brother.

They can't hold the studios. So that'll get knocked down or used for something else.

If BB was to return, they'd need a new studio.

Nope after all the technical equipment is taken out the set will remain as is till either leased out, sold or needed for something else.

They would only spend money on it if it became unsafe or someone else wanted the area.

No
as it is a Outside Production by The Endemol Empire.

Anyone that takes on Big Brother
will do well
as Endemol will Update the Format.
