Max & Saskia to get engaged?

Are there no limits to the lengths the Big Brother stars will go to for a scrap of fame and fortune? Forget BB3’s Alex Sibley’s cringeworthy Domestos advert – we’ve just found out that Maxwell and Saskia are contemplating getting engaged – in order to secure their new “late-night version of The Richard and Judy Show”.

The saucy show, which has been tentatively-titled Double Trouble, will feature showbiz interviews, dirty games and sexy phone-ins. But producers are concerned that the couple’s stormy romance could put the whole thing in jeopardy – and are insisting that Max and Saskia prove their commitment to each other – and the programme.

So, the gruesome twosome are doing what any other self-respecting Z-listers would do in their place: getting married - or considering it, at least. “They will go to any lengths to get this show,” says an insider. “They’ve already taken TV presenting courses.” Oooooh! We bet Richard and Judy are really worried now…

I really dont think that there is anything left to surprise me with :dog:

~Kizwiz~ 14-09-2005 09:53 PM

Oh dear god! How low will these two stoop? It doesnt really surprise me that they are thinking about it but to be honest if you love the person your with.... whats there to think about? Its a shamless publicity stunt to try and boost their status! Coz lets face it... what exactly have they done since leaving BB6.... ohh sorry... silly me.... they've attended an opening of..... an envelope!!

James 14-09-2005 10:03 PM

Well, Jenni Trent-Hughes said on BBLB that were was two ways of winning Big Brother now.

One is to actually win the show, the other is to start a relationship on the show (and get all the interviews and publicity that goes with that).

Helen grabbed every possible opportunity of 'fame' once she left the house, as did Lee. And Stu & Michelle appeared at as many awards ceremonies & film premieres as Maxwell & Saskia have, if not far more. And then there was the 'get away from it all' holiday - provided and extensively photographed by a magazine. And the magazine column, and the X Factor audition ...

The thought of Maxwell and Saskia presenting a tv program together, is frankly terrifying.

hass 15-09-2005 08:40 AM

well done to them. and who is asking you to watch their programme, if you dont like them dont tune in, simple aint it lol :puzzled::laugh:

Did I say I was going to watch it? I said the thought of it was terrifying.

Not arguing with the rest, but actually, Helen got a job straight after BB2, and did a couple of photoshoots on her own. Helen and Paul were offered loadsamoney and cars to go on holiday together and have the photoshoot, but refused.

They were hounded so much and paparazzi stalked outside their homes that in desperation they went to Heat and sold their story for charity, just to get the press off their backs.

They only had two public outings at celeb bashes as a couple. The first was an Audience with Kylie, because Helen really wanted to go, and the second was the Pantene Awards which she was invited to because of her Beauty reporter role. The last was Oct 2001.

Since then they have consistently turned down offers to do 'couple' appearances, including a fly on the wall 'at home with Helen and Paul' series. Sadly.

Last year they did appear on Celeb Fear Factor because that was something Paul really wanted to do. (His reward for the Audience with Kylie outing for Helen perhaps?)

So, in their instance anyway I don't think they used their couple status at all to cash in.

As for Maxwell and Saskia, well, they might want to appear but really, will anyone want to see them? Time will tell.

If they have a genuine long-term commitment together, good luck to them. However, I'd just as soon they kept it to themselves, thanks!

o no go away plase but sakia have nice tits

Ruth 15-09-2005 12:28 PM

I actually thought that Helen and Paul kept a pretty low profile after BB2, although the same certainly can't be said for Stuart and Michelle.

And I have to agree with ROB - good luck to Maxwell and Saskia; although I didn't like them, I wouldn't wish bad luck on them or anyone else - but I would rather they kept it to themselves!

makosifan 15-09-2005 12:59 PM

they are desperate fame hungry wannabes.
Getting engaged JUST so they can present some trashy show is just sad imo.

guttridge 15-09-2005 03:19 PM

dont tell more please

GlitterEyes 15-09-2005 04:20 PM

Now if this was Makosi and someone I would say it was an attention seeking matter, but when I watched Saskia and Maxwell when max was meeting her family they both looked genuinely happy. In a way I do see people again thinking it is attention seeking but only time will tell on how long the relationship lasts. I think they make a great couple and good luck to them.

Ruth 15-09-2005 04:30 PM

They did look happy...then again Saskia did say what a good actress she was.......! Only joking GlitterEyes, my dislike of Maxwell and Saskia is well documented, but as I have said before, I wouldn't wish any bad luck on them. I certainly won't be watching any show that they are presenting though.

texbex 15-09-2005 05:22 PM

I would feel happy if they were getting engaged just because they were commited to each other but getting married because of some tv programme is plain stupid what they gonna do if it all goes wrong. Its a really stupid idea I think they should use their common sense and do some other chat show without the idea of being together involved!

cc100 15-09-2005 08:32 PM

Some good points,ROB.

My point was that you never got the impression from the 3 couples I mentioned that they were in it for the money, unlike these two misfits.

Kaz 15-09-2005 08:40 PM

Yes, agree completely with you, ROB.

However, getting back to cc100's original post, I have to say that, based on previous tabloid journalism experience, any information provided in an article by an 'insider' just screams 'blatant lie' at me ...... :spin2:

I'm not knocking Helen, though. I think she was one of BB's best ever hm's, and a lovely person all round, too. As for Paul, I never mentioned him in my post because I think that he's a pretty genuine guy. The hm's always say that they went into the house 'for the experience', rather than the pursuit of fame. It's almost always a pack of lies, but that's not the case as far as Paul is concerned at all.

I don't see any reason why any of them shouldn't take whatever they're offered once they leave the house, though. If someone offered me a big wedge of cash to write a magazine column or something for some obscure reason, I certainly wouldn't say no. Fame is going to be pretty short-lived for almost all of them, so why not milk it for all it's worth while the opportunity is still there?

Romantic Old Bird 15-09-2005 10:37 PM

True enough Charlotte, I'd certainly take a few bob for a column. I would even consider exhibiting my keen intellect and razor sharp wit on the chat show rounds.

Wouldn't inflict a photoshoot of myself on the unsuspecting public though. They've never done me any harm!

Ruth 16-09-2005 06:21 AM

No I can't blame anyone for getting whatever they can out of their 15 minutes of fame. However, I do think that getting engaged to secure a tv show is crazy behaviour. That's if (and it is a big if) the story is true of course.

Sunny_01 16-09-2005 10:17 AM

You are so right Ruth - we get all heated then wonder later on where the information came from and was it true anyway lol.

hass 16-09-2005 12:22 PM

there are obviously in love and want to get married. good on them

Ruth 16-09-2005 12:26 PM

Or they're just thinking of getting married to secure a tv show:rolleyes: But as I've said, do we even know if this story is true?
