Lens/laser cleaner?

My DVD laser/lens/w/e is doing is job awfully... so does one exist? Would it clean the properly?

Cleaner disks with those fluffy things aren't an option, though.

There are cleaner discs that have a little brush on them, if that doesnt clean your dvd it may be time to get a new DVD writer/rom. They are quite cheap, you can pick up a decent one for less than 20 of the queen pound notes.

Not the cleaner you plum. A new DVD ROM/Rewriter unit for your comp if its a desktop.

Heres how:

If you go to a shop that stock computer spares etc and ask the person behind the counter for one. Hand him a nice crisp fresh twenty pound note and he will give you a new dvd rewriter and some change. Put the change in your purse and the box thingy in your shopping bag.

Take it home make sure your computer is switched off and open the side, look at the back of the installed DVD unit and remove the 2 or 3 cables then undo the retaining screws for the unit, slide it out forwards and replace with the hot fresh new one.

Align the retaining screws as per previous unit. Then cable the unit in as the previous unit was. Replace side cover, turn on power and you are good to go.

Peeeece of peesss as our spanish friends say.

It's for a PS2 slim, and I have a wallet, not a purse.
