Brown coins

anyone ever use them?

arista 10-05-2010 02:03 PM

Yes in some Shops I do not Like.

King Gizzard 10-05-2010 02:03 PM

No - pretty pointless

all they serve now is for retailers/food establishments to price stuff at .99p just so it looks cheaper

oh and 2p machines at the amusements, lol

on average i enter 1-3 shops per week

what do you average?

30stone 10-05-2010 02:35 PM

I just put them in my tin at home.

InOne 10-05-2010 02:38 PM

I use them for the arcades sometimes, other than that they are pretty pointless. Always feel awkward counting out copper when people are behind you lol

InOne 10-05-2010 02:39 PM

wrong thread lol

There is a Solution for this
Pre-Count the amount you need (if you know it)
take it in another pocket.

You steal them from donations tins in the very shops you try to off load them.

It is not Exciting

London has many small shops as well as the big ones.

anti-climax...
my money was on 2 to 3 shops a day. I even toyed with the fact you might go to 3 or 4.... oh my giddy aunt I wonder how many shop you...shop... at.

Ninastar 10-05-2010 03:01 PM

I cant touch them. I either throw them out or give them to my friend.

zotler. 10-05-2010 03:06 PM

They annoy me too, I tried to rid of some at the self checkout the other week since they usually have no queues, and it wouldn't even accept half of them!

WOMBAI 10-05-2010 03:12 PM

They go in my son's hugh plastic coke bottle - every time I get copper, which is a handful every day, it goes in there - there must be quite an amount in there now! It can probably hold several hundred pounds worth!

Kerry 10-05-2010 09:56 PM

They go in a jar and I bag them up and bank them every now and again

Niamh. 10-05-2010 09:58 PM

Yeah I sit in the car sometimes and count out enough in the brown coins to buy what I want and get great pleasure in handing them over. I feel satisfied.

Shops have the right to refuse an 'unreasonable amount' of loose change

Dr.Gonzo 11-05-2010 01:48 PM
