Is there really the need for the amount of Election threads?

I have got really intrested in this Election, I watched the debates, stayed up and watch the election on Thursday.

But is there really the need for the ammount of threads on the same topic about it?

Labour This, Goverment That, Election here there and everywhere.

Its on the news, fair enough but gosh cant the small group of you on here who feel the need to make numerous threads on it, make a fucking discussion thread and chat in there?

Scarlett. 11-05-2010 06:18 PM

Well this is important to the future of 61m people, to be fair

A few arent really needed though

Harry! 11-05-2010 06:18 PM

Yes there is need for many threads because it is a big issue effecting the country. And some points are too big for one thread. Dont like dont click.

Stacey. 11-05-2010 06:21 PM

yeah really, because it effects everyone.
it's constantly being talked about.
but some threads are a bit unnecessary if there's already one similar.

I belive it was you, correct me if im wrong..that was complaining during the Eastenders 25 Week about the amount of threads 'messing' up the forum?

I know it was somebody, If it wasnt you I do apologize.

Like Chewy said, it is important and that but at the same time some of them are just pointless.

Some are quite helpful and do contain information im sure some of us dont know yet, but then you have the threads that just talk rubbish.

It was me who that was complaining during the Eastenders 25 Week.

There was about say 20 threads clutterning the forum but it could of been reduced to 6 really.

The events of the government are far more inportant then a TV show and are not that inportant in the world.

And I do think 1 or 2 threads on the election in serious debates are not needed. Arista's thread on cakes was certanly not needed at all.

Iceman 11-05-2010 06:48 PM

are people comparing eastenders to the whole future of the UK????

Fair enough, but..

It is a TV Forum, and that was a big week for Television.

Just as last week was a big week for the country, but theres still threads being made on more or less the same topic as another one.

Arista is the perfect example, hes been making loads on it and they have all been basically on the same topic.

Im not saying 'Stop Election Threads all together' im just saying its annoying how much are on the Latest Post Board and they are all by people like Arista, Sticks or that other guy.

Shaun 11-05-2010 06:54 PM

Did it not strike you that this thread is ironic?

This is a UK fourm. About UK matters. The election is still hot subject particly as today's events have unfolded. There wont be many threads made by the end of the week. Just expect them to hush by friday.

The fact of the matter is politics is always going to irritate the ignorant and the stupid because they don't have the wherewithal to follow current affairs, debate constructively and coherently, and are more inclined to vote in Britain's Got Talent than the General Election.

Terribly sorry if you want to talk more about Big Brother eye designs without a few lines of political text dotted here and there, but, y'know, there's an election on, and it's kinda important. Tata.

Does that also count for people who post threads about the same subject in a matter of an hour? That would make them ignorant and stupid wouldn't it not? Are they that retarded that they can't look at the forum before judgung on whether to make a thread about a subject. After all the General Election isn't something that will be missed on such a busy forum.
The OP has a point. The overwelming threads on the same subject is tedious, and has every right to express his view on the subject.

And FYI I voted in the General Election, and I refuse to vote on such talent shows, unless its real talent:thumbs:

I think you'll find this thread was made long before the Breaking news thing even aired so of course its fine now to have the threads obviously but at the time this thread was made I was addressing basically 3 Members who wouldnt shut up about it and kept making more and more threads about the same thing.

Funnily enough it does.

Lucy. 11-05-2010 08:19 PM

Yes. It's the future of our country.
I think it's worth a few extra threads, don't you?
