EA to charge for online use (including on the Xbox)
EA Sports titles purchased second-hand will charge a fee for online content. Starting with the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, all games must require an Online Pass to access internet services, such as multiplayer. In a bid to pirate second-hand sales, only new copies of the release will come with the pass for free, leaving other users an option to pay $10 (£6). The Online Pass will be unlockable within the game, and will allow all users on that system to access the content. The scheme will be rolled out in all future EA Sports titles. Digital Spy Well uh...thats great EA, ya know, we dont already pay internet bills, and Xbox Live subscription fees to play online or anything |
EA the money grabbing *****
|
gaming is so expensive nowadays :\
|
Only used EA for Fifa and tiger woods but have gone off both games anyway, in fact gone of gaming altogether except for Football manager on pc
If my xbox ever breaks, think I am going to sellout and get a PS3, my 360 is too loud |
TS2 is the only decent EA title anyway.
|
Luckily I dont really play online much, I prefer normal old fashioned games xD
|
Oh well they can fuck off.
Im so glad Rockstar didnt give into them and let them take Grand Theft Auto 5. I would of cried if I had to pay for GTA5 online. |

TS3 is bollocks. So is the rest of their games. The Sims 2 will always be one of my favourite games. |

You a CC *****? |
It's incredibly greedy, if they want to curb the used market then they should have done what Mass Effect 2 did and offer free DLC to people with new copies. Add more content instead of taking it away, I hope it blows up in their faces.

As much as I love The Sims series, there is no better example of EA's money grubbing behavior than TS.

Edit: The sims 2, will always be my favourite game. |
EA has plenty of amazing titles.

I always knew EA were cunts but fuck me.
TimeSplitters 3 is the only thing I was ever able to tolerate with the EA logo on it. |

I agree with what they are doing.. so many people just copy games for free..
We dont pay for online on ps3, and i dont buy second hand games really nor do i copy any, so this really does not affect me. And i play Ea games at least once a week (Fifa 10). |

Oh and to top it all off, EA have made downloading anything Custom for the sims 3 difficult, Its not cut and dry as it was in Sims 2. where you stuck all the rars. and zips. in a "Downloads" folder. Its like they're saying "if you want nice objects that should have been in the game anyway, pay loads of money for SIM POINTS and use those sim points to get new snazzy objects". :bored: When i mention sim points, I mean the Sims Store that debuted the day the sims 3 was released. |
