the article i read had no mention of drink being involved i read that it was being passed to police because of child neglect type issue cos she didnt put sun cream etc on

How terrible, I agree this woman is not fit to mother that child. This made me feel sick, as a mother and a grandmother I have always been obsessed with not letting my kids burn, lots of shade and thick layers of sun cream for them. I hope this woman is prosecuted.

And end up on an assualt charge - not much sense in that! The matter was dealt with appropriately - violence was not desirable or necessary!

Much as I understand your feelings - we can't just go round slapping people whenever we disapprove of their behaviour - what message would that give! Violence breeds violence!

Yeah I have to say I wouldnt go around slapping anyone either you could end up in more trouble than she would have knowing the way our justice system works.

I hope she is being more than reviewed, that said though some happy clapper will surely roll out a million excuses for this womans awful behaviour as a way to try and excuse it, then have her monitored, sent to parenting classes and given lovely trips out to make it all better.
