And the theme tune has been re-done. Hmmm.

Scarlett. 26-05-2010 04:21 PM

Nope, its actually the original theme tune xD

I like these ones, they wont go out of date when something changes

Mrluvaluva 26-05-2010 04:25 PM

It sounds different to how it is now. Have they gone back to the original one then? It sounds older.

Scarlett. 26-05-2010 04:26 PM

Yeah, its the older one, I think they may have jazzed it up a bit

I love these titles, they make the street feel alive

Patrick 26-05-2010 04:31 PM

Not bad at all.

Tom4784 26-05-2010 04:32 PM

I don't like them, half of it isn't even set in the street . Using the original music is jarring as well, it doesn't go with the imagery at all.

They should have done what Eastenders did and just retouched the credits while keeping the same concept.

Every other set of titles always used Manchester in theirs, the only set which feature the street, and only the street was the last lot

I love this theme tune as well, the last one was to "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAWAAAWAA" where as these are "WAAAAAAAAAbumptybumWAAAAAAAA" and it makes the show feel more alive, it borrows a lot from old credits and manages to mix old and new

Mrluvaluva 26-05-2010 04:40 PM

I actually like the titles. At the beginning they are set in modern central Manchester (looks like Albert Square) and you can see the new Hilton hotel which is one of the newer landmarks in the city, and then it progresses back onto the street. I don't like the theme music at all though. It has gone in the opposite direction and just seems to sound very old.

I agree, like the shot of the cafe area, with Beetham in the background, it mixes old with new, very apt for the show :D

OMG

These can't become out dated quickly either, because it doesn't focus on specific houses!

Scarlett. 26-05-2010 05:18 PM

Indeed :D

Scarlett. 26-05-2010 06:26 PM

I wonder what the break bumpers/end credits will look like?

Smithy 26-05-2010 06:28 PM

Maybe Just The end bit where it says coronation street

Im not too keen on the pigeons, they don't look very realistic, if you know what I mean :p

Scarlett. 26-05-2010 06:30 PM

The pidgeons are a bit "Hmmm" but I dont mind them

I hope they bring back the old
"End of part one" and "Part two" things xD

and I hope they show the street in the break bumpers xD

Smithy 26-05-2010 06:32 PM

Maybe it'll just end on scene and show the characters as they were :P

Scarlett. 26-05-2010 06:32 PM

Possibly, I'd be disappointed if it just went to the title card

Smithy 26-05-2010 06:33 PM

We may not get the proper ones until the week after next because the scenes are going to be so dramatic, they may just keep it going until the last second

Scarlett. 26-05-2010 06:35 PM

Indeed :)

Jordan. 26-05-2010 06:37 PM

Dont like them :(

Callum 26-05-2010 06:38 PM

I like them personally :)

Spike 26-05-2010 06:40 PM

I don't know if I like them. Its hard to change something that is so iconic.
I like the new music though

Scarlett. 26-05-2010 06:44 PM

I was expecting the credits to be similar to the current ones, just with different shots, so when I saw these, I was pleasently suprised

Scarlett. 26-05-2010 07:16 PM

One thing I'm really glad about is...

they didnt change the title card to

"Corrie the Nation's Street" xD
