Forgetful

Put a pie in the oven, and got distracted on here and forgot about it and burnt it a little... I do stuff like that all the time, anyone else ever burnt something so it's not edible due to merely forgetting you were cooking food?

Edit - Fail, meant something not someone. :P

Crimson Dynamo 04-06-2010 03:47 PM

what was the question again?

No - can honestly say I have never burnt or overcooked anyone! :joker:

I am worse at forgetting things like really quickly. Today I was putting an earring in, and 2 seconds later I forgot where I put the butterfly bit. :'( Has anyone else done something like this before? LOL

setanta 04-06-2010 04:25 PM

I sometimes put the teabag in the sink and the spoon in the bin.

I've accidentally left the oven on all night.

Waffles were rock solid in the morning.

Raph 04-06-2010 04:53 PM

haha rofl Zoe.

setanta 04-06-2010 04:53 PM

The worst is when you walk up the stairs and suddenly forget what you went up for, especially when you know you don't need to go for a wee. Ah, I must be getting old.

Stacey. 04-06-2010 04:55 PM

i forget things so easily. i can go into a room looking for something, then just completely forget why i even went in there

setanta 04-06-2010 04:58 PM

Oh, and you know that you're getting senile when you put the milk in the cupboard and the coffee or tea bags in the fridge. I've only done that once so far, touch wood.

Sure have! The chip pan. Nearly burnt my Aunts kitchen down. She went in the shower and told me to take the chip pan off the heat when it was hot but I went and watched neighbours and byt the time I had remembered, the pan was ablaze.. I had known for yesrs to use a damp teacloth but I panicked, carried the pot outside whilst on fire,THEN poured water on it! To say I got a surprise when the water hit it was an understatement!

I made myself a drink earlier and put it on the side. Went upstairs to get something then came back downstairs and couldn't find my drink. I figured I left it upstairs and spent literally 5 minutes looking for it.

So am I now.. I've also developed a fear of being late (I think my constantly tardy friend has horrified me so much)so I've set all my clocks in the house 5 minutes fast (which i know is stupid, because I KNOW they're fast) But if I am going out I am usually ready, dressed and coat on about half an hour before I need to leave!

I don't mind really. Works well when you're travelling if you're like that as well. I hate those people who spend all their time in the airport bar and end up delaying the flight.

Haha.. god me too!! WTF is wrong with them? I actually usually arrive at the airport about two hours early, before check in or anything has opened so it means sitting about with luggage etc in tow, but at least I know I'm not going to miss the flight..
The last funeral I was at, I talked two carloads of people into leaving really early for the church "just incase there's roadworks or an accident or a breakdown or summat" We ended up sitting in the chucrch for nearly an hour before things kicked off and of course by that time I had a terrible fit of the giggles! :nono:

GypsyGoth 04-06-2010 07:38 PM

Today before I went out I was going to put some moisturizer on my face, well I went to the bathroom and squeezed some toothpaste onto my hand and was about to rub it into my face when I realised what I was doing :conf2:

On the plus side one of my hands smelled minty.

Yesterday I left the cooker on when I went to work D:

Gav had to run back and turn it off, and let the dog out for some air :/
