Hair Raising, Spine tingling Music..

What music/song makes you shiver?

Two to start...

As good as Irish music gets. When the uilleann pipes come in half way through the song.... magic!!! It goes just instrumental near the end with the Bodhran and uilleann pipe doing the business. And I saw them live.

You'll appreciate this Lee. He's magic. Bad sound quality but still gorgeous.

Preferred the second half of that one James. The uilleann pipes are indeed spine tingling though; so much more haunting than the Scottish pipes. I know not your fav film but soundtrack is a shivery one for me..

God yes! I love that song. Forgot there was such a song actually! I was at a wedding where Donovan sang that before the speeches.. He kind of sucked though :D

Nobody does it like Dick Gaughan. What a voice.

I post this one at an almost monthly rate. Not even one of my fav songs of theirs but an absolutely astounding live performance, plus it helps that they're my fav band.

Lee. 09-06-2010 12:44 PM

Aaaaaargh! They're my least favourite band of all time! I'll be polite and listen to it though.. :)

They're the great band of the last 15 years in my eyes. Spine tingling good. Don't know how many times I've seen them live. Such emotional music.

Danny Boy.. there's a good Irish one. It was my Grandma's favourite song.. she used to sing it all the time.

Anything Ennio Morricone wrote was beautiful.

One of the great opening sequences to one of my favourite films of all time, accompanied by Bernard Herrmann's masterful score. Now that's spine tingling to me.
