New MODERN Coca Cola Bottle!!?
http://s3files.core77.com/blog/image...dkimcoke01.jpg
CCS student Andrew Kim's Coke bottle redesign is an ambitious take on the iconic bottle, going square in the name of eco-friendliness. The new bottle shape would take up far less space in shipping pallets per bottle, and a push-up in the bottom large enough to accommodate the cap of the bottle beneath it would enable stacking. Said cap is offset for better drinkability. http://s3files.core77.com/blog/image...dkimcoke02.jpg Another interesting design feature is that underneath the label, the bottle is ribbed so that it can compress like an accordion, taking up even less space when it's time to go into the recycling truck. http://s3files.core77.com/blog/image...dkimcoke03.jpg As a former structural package designer myself, my first thought was that the strength needed for stackability wouldn't jive with a crushable bottle, but then I realized the bottle could be designed so that it's strong when surrounded on all sides--like when they're being shipped en masse--but collapsible when the bottle is alone, absent the pressure of surrounding bottles. Good stuff, and even more impressive considering Kim is a freshman! Source What do you think everyone? |
I really like that design. It looks attractive and I think it's a big step up from the traditional bottle. Love it!
it looks so futuristic
They'll never change the bottle shape because it is so iconic. The new design looks sh!t anyway.
Awful looks like a bottle of gin
It looks really bad.
It looks so good :D
I like it!
I don't think it looks nice but I like how it can its ultimate reason for suggestion is because of the environment.
Im on the fence with this one. I like it but i dont
Very nice but those bastards at coke change their bottles every day with new 'WIN 50000000000000 Pound' offers and their annoying gold bottles, or the chavy designs all the time with the competions or the World Cup shit now.
They can never just stay the same. |
I love it.
I like it alot but the original design is so iconic, they'd be stupid to change it.
I rejected the idea when I first saw this...but ultimately it doesn't really matter what people think of the aesthetics - noone'd care if they WERE brought in. And if they're more economic and environmentally-friendly, then why not.
Sh!t... sh!t... sh!t.... And who gives a fu**? Buncha pansies. It's a bottle for fu** sake.

If you click the link at the start of the article, it goes to some teenagers blog who explains that it is his 2nd semester midterm assignment or something like that.
In other words, it's just a project that he did for school, not the real new Coke design. Pretty good design though. |
Looks like Nike shoe :/ Pepsi bottle from Back To The Future part 2 did look more cool.
They would so blatantly never fill the bottle up with that much coke.
It looks really modern - I LOVE it!
I drink diet coke everyday. I disapprove of change. But as long as it tastes the same and is ice cool, I'll be okay.
I want one of them coke bottles like now, they are so good!
