Do you think channel4 will realise their mistake in axing BB?

Would you want Channel4 to bring back BB in a few years or maybe let another channel pick it up?

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 14-06-2010 12:06 PM

it needs a long break, 3 years at least

MojoNixon 14-06-2010 12:07 PM

Nope. There will be Friends re-runs coming up.

Niamh. 14-06-2010 12:07 PM

I hope another Channel picks it up (one that I have) I think a revamp and some new minds working on it would do it the world of good

billy123 14-06-2010 12:07 PM

nah they are glad to be rid of it and i dont blame them with all the trouble it has caused for them with the pc brigade and the moaning ofcom tossers.

Jarvio 14-06-2010 12:14 PM

Sadly, only a very small percentage of people actually give a damn about BB anymore. So sadly, C4 is glad it's going

pixee 14-06-2010 12:20 PM

It's probably quite expensive to pay endomol? Either way anyway i think they might be a bit glad to get rid of it. Worst thing that could happen would be another channel picks it up cause if it was off screens for 3/4 years then could come back with people missing it.

They'll be delighted to see it go, but soon enough they'll realise that axing a program that continues to get 3m viewers for them at 10PM is a bad decision.

I just can't see this 'creative renewal' they are planning working for them. But then again, look at how Big Brother did all those years back...

Yes. I just took a look at the BARB figues just released that the week ending 6th June or something and C4s highest rated show got 1.7m.

And BB is getting 3m+ in the overnights... i wonder what their new flagship show will be. Apart from Grand Designs and maybe Embarassing Bodies.

Spike 14-06-2010 03:30 PM

They wont regret it and they made the right decision for them. The show might be doing okay now, but say if a 3year contract had have been signed, the rate the show was losing viewers well it would have been a huge gamble for C4 to hope that it doesn't drop any further.
Both for Big Brother and C4 it was the right decision to end now. While it goes now, hopefully on a high, it had more chance of coming back in the future. It will be back on our screens again one day

Barbie 14-06-2010 03:32 PM

this way they won't let it fizzle out, its already gone past its good years. I don't think they will regret it as long as they bring something just as good to the channel.

Mystrios 14-06-2010 03:33 PM

Channel 4 is a load of Bull with what they say.

They say they are a channel that Strides to be different which is why BB is being Axed (its gone on too long)

Yet they are still happy to have shows with no entertainment value such as saying a few numbers and winning money EVERYDAY.

And shows like Embarrsing Bodies or Come Dine with Me which basically just do the same things.

I probably got a few facts wrong in this rant but my message is across. That Channel 4 strides originality but fails.

That would be worse. After three years, no one will want to see it back. It would be a disaster to bring it back after a break. It either continues or it never returns. And I'm a massive fan. But comebacks do not work.
