***Appreciation Threads*** - Now merged with Fanclubs

Getting sick of having every positive conversation about your housemate getting ruined by people who dislike them? Use the new appreciation threads in each housemates relative subforum. Here is a quick list :)

Ben
Caoimhe
Corin
David
Govan
Ife
John
Josie
Mario
Nathan
Rachael
Shabby
Steven
Sunshine

No negative messages in there please, it should be easy enough to manage :)

If anyone continually goes into them just to wind fans up by slagging the housemate in question, they will be punished.

We need a little positivity round here.

Enjoy :D

Yay!

Thanks :)

And yes, I realize I messed up the front page for a little while...I apologize, but this will die down soon enough, overall, it is a good thing for the forum :)

Claymores 17-06-2010 03:32 PM

Is it really necessary to have all these HM based appreciation threads copying across to the Gerneral Forum????

It's totally messed-up the discussion of events/issues as the front page of general has become a long-list of the last appreciation posts.

On DS - for example the many Appreciation posts do not copy across and mess-up the debate on General issues/events

Last year the housemate subforums were separate I believe.

And it will die down after about half an hour. Its nice to have somewhere to be positive for once.

Stacey. 17-06-2010 03:34 PM

yes. like that Juan_Sheet coming into our Rachael thread and saying bad things about her. :nono:

Great idea Vicky :)

Sabrewulf238 17-06-2010 03:37 PM

Appreciation threads seem weird to me.....I think I'll just use the fan club threads if I want to say anything nice about them.

Bad things are going to be said, regardless of whether you're hiding from them or not.

Yeah I know, these were requested last year though, and went down quite well :)

That's coz the HM Sub-forums were seperate so every single "I luv XXX" post on an Appreciation Thrad didn't needlessly copy across to the General Forum making topical debate on issues a thing of the past

I wasn't getting at you personally - I'm pointing-out that as thing stand, every time 2 members get together to chit-chat about their fave housemate - the whole of the general forum is gonna be inflicted with their chit-chat too

Smithy 17-06-2010 03:48 PM

You should make it sticky vicky :p

Jords 17-06-2010 03:48 PM

Cheers Vicky. :)

Stacey. 17-06-2010 03:49 PM

Pretty much the same as when they make a thread to do it :conf:

This should hopefully chill out some of the multiple threads on the same thing.

The essential difference is that 2 members could chit-chat endlessly about a HM's lipstick or pink dress within an appreciation thread.

Appreciation posts copy across to the General Forum Page

So it is likely (as in DS) that there will be a 300 post exhange on this on an appreciation thread (constantly copying the thread across to general).

As DS appreciation threads do not copy across, this ludicrous situation does not copy across, and non-fans of a HM are quite happy if 2 members want to converse endlessly on their HM's lipstick - we never see the discussion as it doesn't jump to page 1 of General.

Warning...infractions...then a short posting ban.

There is no reason at all to purposely wind people up. Or to spam.

King Gizzard 02-08-2010 01:31 AM

Just a quick note...all appreciation threads have been merged with the Housemates fanclubs, as we thought there really wasnt much difference between the two. The same rules apply, all negative posts will be deleted and there may be warnings infractions given out if people do so.
