Jj cant live in oz

He seems to know too much english slang, too much about our Big Brother (twists, game playing) and he said it takes 9 hours to get to england from oz last night.
Reason for this thread. Is he a liar?

Niall 17-06-2010 04:44 PM

Nah. I seriously doubt it.

Bigbrofan25 17-06-2010 04:45 PM

Na he really is from oz

InOne 17-06-2010 04:45 PM

His parents are English.

vesavius 17-06-2010 04:45 PM

Maybe.

But he said he watched BB last year on youtube.

the accent thing I am not really seeing either, but then I am no expert on the different aussie accents/ sayings.

Dannyboii 17-06-2010 04:45 PM

He has a strong Australian accent. And I imagine a lot of their slang is similiar to ours because they speak the same language. He probabally just seems like a liar because he's really thick.

In Australia you can watch Eastenders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale - which other dialects/slangs would you need??????

Australia had their own BB too plus it was possible to watch ours on the net.

Straws/clutching?!

Jay Frost 17-06-2010 04:54 PM

No argh..
I believe hes from oz, but I just dont think he lives there all the time.
I doubt he watches our bb, Im a big bbfan and ive neuer watched another country. Not even when it was on e4.

Yea, I don't think he has the brains to be crafty.

AusFan 17-06-2010 05:00 PM

Australia had bb for like eight years and ours series copied lots of the bb uk twists into our own series so they're nothing new.

Last years series was my first uk bb and I'd imagine a lot of other Aussies were in the same boat after our bb got axed bbuk was a new way to get our bb fix.

John actually has a strong Aussie accent and it's stronger then the average Aussie plus he uses stereotypical Aussie slang (I.e "blokes" ) which isn't as common in Australia as you may think.

As has been said, his parents are british and he obviously feels a strong connection with the UK (from his chats to Ben). This would be more then enough reason imo to watch the UK BB, especially when his own had finished.

I am not saying what you suggest is too far fetched to be true, but every point you have made so far can be explained away.

MeMyselfAndI 17-06-2010 05:06 PM

of course hes from austrillia

She was a fake HM (an actress) they put in during an earlier series - but Poo (that was really the name) didn't have even much of a clue about Australian georgraphy or doing the accent so they sussed her out very quickly.

chuff me dizzy 17-06-2010 05:12 PM

He does, but he was so desperate to be on BB and play the game that he's studied everything about it and concocted this 'fit guy who's breakin' out of the mold!' persona to win.He -probably knows every fact and statistic about BB including of course voters hate pretty girls, and girls are the first ones out- hence him constantly saying he dislikes Rachael to win points with the public and keep the Josielookalikes and all the guys that have been rejected by pretty girls and can't get over it, on his side.

Did he really say 9 hours?

If he said that then he's definitely full of sh!t.

It takes 20 + hours, depending where you land and not including stop overs.
