Help- florida suprise holiday!!

Hi all! :wavey:

I need some info really, basically the short way of telling this is......

Im 26 and my brother is 22, next year it is our parents 35th wedding anniversary!

We want to do something special and as me and my bro want to go back to florida and my auntie and unlce and 2 cousins are looking into going next year. we thought it would be a great idea if we all went together as a kind of suprise holiday for their anniversary.

I mean at this point it is just an idea all i have done is spoken to my brother about it and looked at some prices etc!

I am going over my brothers tonight to plan a bit more and will ring my auntie tomorrow night as i no she will be in.

I just want some help on how to organise it really, it cannot be a total suprise as my parents will need to book time off from work and time to save ( i cant afford to pay for them both)

What i thought was if i start saving for them and pay a few hundred towards it and then tell them this sept for their 34th anniversary so they've got enough time to save and plan etc!

What you guys think!:wavey:

We have been twice before in 2002 and 2006

Florida is a bit boring especially if you have been there twice.

It can never be boring! its only because my mum said a few months ago when she found out that my auntie and uncle were going that she would love to go back to florida with them, and my auntie and uncle have never been there before so seeing my cousin faces on the rides etc wil be priceless! :wavey:

Anyone? :o(

I'm going to Florida again in September, love it there and it could never get boring I agree!

Obviously like you said they'd need to book the time off work etc, but you could pay the deposit and as much towards it as you can all afford (maybe if your whole family apart from them pooled together you might be able to afford to pay for both of them between you?), then tell them near the time so they can save up spending money? It's a bit hard with a holiday that expensive to keep it totally secret tbh lol.

Or maybe pay the deposit and a chunk off the balance between you and then on their 34th anniversary this year give them the booking confirmation as something to get excited about for next year?

Are you really that excited?

I'm going there next month, can't wait, never been before! Mainly going for the theme parks in particular the Wizarding World of Harry Potter but I've heard great things about Florida.

Florida is just a cheap holiday.

You want to take them somewhere extra special, go to the Caribbean.

Exactly, for not much more you could probably go all inclusive in the Caribbean. Maybe another £200. As long as you like it then it doesn't matter. I am sure Florida is lovely. Not sure if I've been before.

So your present for your parents 35th Anniversary is a surprise holiday that they have to pay for?:conf:

Why not lower your sights and take them somewhere that you can afford?

:wavey: waw living in florida sounds wicked. I dont really need to know anything tbh been twice and we loved every minute so why not go back ey!:wavey:

Photon 25-06-2010 07:49 PM

Wicked? Not one bit. Trust me. It seems rad when you're going off to theme parks on vacation, but it isn't a great place to live. Moving away from Florida was the best thing I've ever done in my whole life.

If you're interested in the parks, ask me. I lived in Orlando, just minutes from Universal Studios, and my mother worked very high up at Walt Disney World.

I suppose i think its wicked because we had a holiday and did the parks and all the fun stuff. but i guess living there is different!

We have done universal and islands of adventure which we loved and will defo do again! we also did wet n wild, sea world and busch gardens. Any others close by that you would recommend like blizzard beach, typhoon lagoon? :wavey:
