"LIFE expectancy is TEN YEARS lower in parts of the North than the South,
grim figures reveal today.
Blackpool men have the lowest predicted life-span in England at 73.6 years - compared to 84.3 in London's posh Kensington and Chelsea.
And women in the Lancashire town can expect to live to 78.8 - ten years less than those in the West London borough.
The national average is now 77.9 years for men and 82.0 for women."

Life In The City.

What a load of old scroat. I have nothing but contempt for the people who put together these surveys. The fact that it comes from the sun says it all.

A couple of years ago they did one saying Middlesbrough is the worst place to live in Britain. Here is the wonderful Jeff Stelling keeping it real.

That was a good rant. Wonder if it was on his autocue, very impressive if it was all off the cuff.

I'm certain it was off the cuff. He's one of the very best broadcasters around.

Half of the residents of Kensington are probably not ethnically even English - they'll be rich blow-ins. Certainly rich, which has more to long with how long they live.

Excellent rant, maybe I'll watch Sky Sports News more often from now on.

I can testify that Middlesbrough is not even the worst place in Teesside, let alone the country when you have Saltburn and Thornaby just outside.

And of course, travel a few miles further North and you get to Sunderland, which for all intents and purposes makes Boro look like Venice.
