Captain.Remy, TIBB's very own smoker has taken an important decision...

Yep that's right, I've decided to reduce my smoking habits. I know I know, it sounds weird coming from me, from the guy who has had so many arguments about smoking BUT I think it's time for me to slow down a bit.

I'm not going to quit any time soon (probably never) but to reduce about 1 or 2 a day as for now then cut the "automatic" cigs. I will probably gain a bit of weight but that doesn't matter.
I came to the conclusion that sometimes I don't want to smoke but I still do because these cigs are "regulars", always at the same time, same hour. But I still like smoking and I will probably still have strong arguments against arista (but he loves it)

So there you go. I generally don't shout my life over here but it means a lot to me.

Good luck with it Rèmy :)

Good for you Remy and good luck with it! I'm doing the same, cutting down really slowly and eventually giving up over the next couple of months. You should try one of those inhalers, they kill the cravings really effectively I've found :)

Do you want a cigarette Remy? I went to the shop earlier and bought 80. We can go out back and have a bitch about people. :)

MrGaryy 07-07-2010 09:05 PM

I think that's great. Hope it works out for you :)

Best of luck Remy, I'm doing the same myself. Not quitting completely, but seeing if I can stop totally for a week or so, and then maybe having the odd one at the weekends or something, just to see if I still control the drug rather than the drug controlling me. Everything in moderation.

I use my e-Cig to help reduce intake, but no idea if they're legal in France to purchase (not in Germany now).

When you puff on it, the battery heats the e-juice (nicotine dilute) in the vaporiser and inhaling the water vapour feels very similar to actually smoking, giving the nicotine hit the addict needs It's also odourless.

E-cigs are quite amusing as the tip also glows when youi have a drag, and when you exhale it looks exactly like you're having a real cigarette and blowing out smoke (the water vapour just disappears tho)

I've used it on the train quite often and you get some funny looks, but there's nothing they can do to stop you as the e-cig contains no tobacco nor lit substance (which is what the UK laws on smoking prohibit).

Good luck slowing down.........I can be very successful using my way for weeks, but usually relapse when out for a drink (and sometimes for days thereafter)

I always say to stop smoking completely, I'd probably have to give up the booze too and that just ain't happening!.
