Tonight's episode of Little Britain could be the last ever.

According to the Daily Star, many of the show's characters reach turning points in their lives in tonight's instalment of the popular sketch show.

As "only gay in the village" Daffyd prepares to leave Llanddewi Brefi and head for London, dietician Marjorie Dawes is left alone at Fat Fighters when the slimmers walk out. Meanwhile, Sebastian is heartbroken when the Prime Minister resigns from Number 10, and travel agent Carole is in for a shock when her computer finally says "yes".

One show source told the newspaper, "The sketches will certainly set tongues wagging that David and Matt are bringing the curtain down on the show. At the end of some of the clips, it would be difficult to see how they could bring people like Carole and Sebastian back.

"In others there are a few twists which mean these much-loved figures like Daffyd and Marjorie could make a return if they wanted. But the general tone of the Christmas special is that it's like a farewell to the fans."

A BBC spokeswoman explained, "Things have been left open-ended. There won't be a Little Britain series next year because Matt Lucas and David Walliams are on tour and cannot write and record a new show at the same time. We know fans want to know about a fourth series, but all we can say is, it's too early to say at the moment."

I have never really found this funny, the skits are just repeated over and over but in different places and to me thats boring after the first episode..the old lady who pisses everywhere..whats all that about? it just aint funny..

I can't bare the show, it's just not funny, as SMC said it is just repeated over and over again and i would honestly prefer to watch Trevor McDonalds news and im not a news person! :laugh:

I know im in a very small minority though lol.

It's gone... and i'm one of the now millions who are glad. Over on Digital Spy everyone hates it and i would say half the people who watch watch to see how crap it is that week.

I'll miss it if it's going off air, as it was my Thursday night entertainment, and I can't see the BBC being able to replace it easily. I'll be shocked if Lou + Andy, Vicky Pollard and Sebastian + Prime Minister (possibly Daffyd?) are dropped (should another series come about).

Firstly because they're all popular, but secondly because they've been the mainstays of Little Britain. Perhaps a spin off show? I dunno. Maybe some crossovers too.

With a bit of luck it will be the last ever it is total crap. I'd like to hunt them down with a 12-gauge.
