Most Confusing Movie Of All Time Is.....

Tom Cruise's Vanilla Sky has been voted the most confusing movie of all time in a poll run by LoveFilm.

According to The Mirror, the 2001 film topped the poll, finishing ahead of Mulholland Drive and Donnie Darko.

Editor of LoveFilm Helen Cowley said: "It's clear that dreaming is the biggest cause of confusion for viewers. Switching from reality to dream sequences pulls the wool over our eyes and leaves us searching for the truth."

Vanilla Sky, which also features Penelope Cruz, is a remake of the Spanish film Abre Los Ojos.

More than 2,000 film fans voted in the poll.

I agree!

Though, "The Birds" is pretty confusing as you don't get told a cause/reason at all.

Hmmmmm, think I got Vanilla Sky first time round.

Thought this thread was about Inception lol

Don't get me started on Vanilla Sky! The most miserable couple of hours of my life was spent watching that in the cinema!
I didn't understand The Matrix either...

BB_Eye 22-07-2010 01:53 AM

Lol, what a stupid choice. Vanilla Sky makes perfect sense, even on the first viewing.

The Usual Suspects is confusing.

The people who voted have obviously not seen many films if they think Vanilla Sky is the most confusing of all time :joker:

I know there's tons more that are way more confusing.

Beastie 22-07-2010 02:18 PM

Nah Vanilla Sky is not confusing really. lol.

MissKittyFantastico 22-07-2010 02:25 PM

Mulholland Drive was the most confusing for me I think, I don't really like films that fry my brain like that

Mulholland Drive didn't make any sense anyway, lol. Loved Naomi Watts in it though.

Oh so it wasn't just me? Yeah she's fantastic in it, it's just one of those films that I bought cheap on dvd because I heard loads about it, but watched once and probably never will again because it just annoyed me with how confusing it is

Niamh. 22-07-2010 02:30 PM

It wasn't that confusing but it was a bit sh1t

GypsyGoth 22-07-2010 02:32 PM

I didn't think Vanilla Sky was baffling at all. And I agree about Mulholland Drive Michelle, after I seen it I had to read up about what it all meant. I still haven't gotten around to seeing it again.

But the one that confused me the most was Synecdoche New York, it was very good but surreal. It's worth watching.

I did that too Claudia, but people's explanations of what it all meant confused me even more than the film itself did

The first matrix as well was reasonably followable but the 2nd and 3rd were a bit confusing I thought

BB_Eye 22-07-2010 03:07 PM

All the President's Men is not what I'd call a 'mind*******', but it's probably the most difficult to follow thriller I've ever seen. I think I might have picked that.

Haven't seen it - I was more confused by Transformers 2. As in how it got made.
