Will Five finally blossom, or will it wither?
 

So now Five has a new owner, will the channel change it's fortunes, or will it fail?

I heard he's trying to get Simon Cowell, Corrie, Big Brother, Top of the Pops and Panorama :joker: I think he's aiming a bit high there, he will probably get Big Brother though, at least I hope he does

Five will not blossom until they get those late night films back :)

Probably be a bit more popular than it currently is me thinks.

I reckon he can make it more popular and hopefully he does.

I'd rather him spend 2010 and 2011 getting Five off the ground and hopefully it'll take off and Channel 4 will fall on its arse.

Then buy Big Brother in late 2011 so we all know it's coming back, then air Big Brother 12 in July 2012.

LMFAO He really thinks ITV will give that up?

For the the right price they will.

ITV wouldnt give it up, it's the most sought after TV slot for advertising :p (though when X Factor and BGT are on that changes) Corrie's been running nearly as long as ITV, and is it's flagship show, it'd be like BBC giving Five, Dr. Who or EastEnders :p

but whats good about the new Channel 5 (he wants to rename it that) is it seems like he wants homegrown shows instead of imports

I think it'll do well, I can see him buying BB and TOTP, he could try and crack the teen market.

After looking back I think he said he wants show like Top Of The Pops, Corrie, X Factor and Panorama

A new name will 100% help it, people will laugh at Five like they do now and won't give it the time of day but if he can revamp it and give it a new name it'll be great.

I think it'll be a breakthrough. Having it as Channel 5 will make it the new C4, and hopefully a brilliant home for Big Brother and Top of the Pops. I'm excited to see what happens.

If he plays his cards right and reinvents C5 in the right way then yes but he's in for a tough battle.

I'd love for Channel 5 to finally become a worth while channel :D

I'm also glad they are changing the name because 'BB House, This Is (Insertnewhostnamehere) you are live on Channel 5 please do not swear' just does not sound right lol
