He made a name for himself with this -ahem- memorable American Idol audition back in 2004.



He has since gained something of a cult following although gets a lot of stick for perpetuating dated Asian stereotypes. I think this criticism has more than a grain of truth to it, but he plays up to it so shamelessly that the result is hilarious.

When I saw his name on the main lists, I thought why William Hague's name was on the music lists. Then I realised it was not him. ha ha
I have never heard of him so I googled before opened this thread. Then it was that Chinese boy!

Yes, I remember him. He was a terible singer but very cute. I liked him.
It was such a catchy song, "she bangs~ she bangs~:hugesmile:"

These videos, they are so awful and painful to listen! Ha ha

Some years ago I saw him in a program, he was signing autographs to exciting group of people who spotted him at an airport. He answered to a interviewer what he was doing lately then he answered he was studying something.
I was surprised his popularity that time but I did not know he was that popular until now.

I think the magic is pure his personality.

I feel a little bit sorry for people who are genuinely talented singers but not as successful as him. Mockery of ,,,,,,?

I think he is the thinking man's Cheeky Girls in many ways. He has probably had a longer lasting career than most X-Factor winners, lol.
