After the calls of "Get Jade Out" on Sophie's eviction night, we had a poll on this site, if Jade was up against Adele who would we evict. And a large majority here said Adele.

There's no way round it. "Hi Jonny" in a sweet voice followed by "****** off" as he went inside is going to be shown, whoever says it, and is not going to endear anyone, and we had seen plenty of examples of this behaviour on E4 from Adele.

Most of Jade's worst moments in that period involved Adele, and it was invariably Adele egging her on. So it was difficult to separate the two.

We ain't that stupid, and I'm disappointed that Josh has jumped on the conspiracy bandwagon. I think there may have been a few betting coups here and there, but Adele's fate was sealed the moment those nominations were read out. On this site we all knew straight away didn't we?

If I were a gambler (I wouldn't even know how to fill in a slip) I would have been straight round the bookies with whatever I could afford at the initial odds of 7-2 against Adele.

Although I totally agree with what you say, Oldgit, I do think there could be something in what Josh says about the way Channel 4 changed the eviction rules for the week following Adele's eviction.

I'm pretty sure that, if the housemates had had a choice of who they wanted to evict that week, Jade would definitely have been one of those nominated and I'm also pretty sure that she would have been voted out by the public, whoever she was up against.

Food for thought? :spin2:

I agree to a point, Miriam, but Josh's article seemed to me to talk about the way Adele and Jade were projected by C4 and E4 in the week leading up to Adele's eviction. That said, it did seem that there was part of it that would not load on my computer.

Obviously we don't know whether the Saturday's task after the bars coming down was pre-planned or not, but, yes it is possible that it was part of a "protect Jade" plan.

I do not expect that C4 had anticipated the drawing of lots, indeed they specifically excluded it from the following week's phone call discussion, so I think they were caught out there.

What I think they wanted was a form of "open nominations". It could then have kicked off big time, but I think that had that happened, Jade and Tim would have been nominated, the same as if the nominations had been closed, but with more "excitement" and a new division less visible than the bars.

And Jade would have beaten Tim...

i dont agree with a word that josh says nor do i believe that the vote was rigged... adele was so evil and devious that as soon as the nominations were announced many of us couldnt wait to vote her out... every person that i know who also watches big brother all wanted to vote out adele regardless of whether they liked jade or not.. i would like to know where josh gets his facts from... does he say this just becaus he disliked jade so much and just assumes that the entire population does too? if thats the case then when sandy was up for eviction but stayed in that must have been rigged too..... i think not.

Actually dolphin, not everyone wanted Adele out. I for one didn't.

There was a lot of specualtion following the evictin that the vote may have been rigged and I wouldn't be surprised if Josh was right - I thought something similar myself.

I've said over and over again on here that I don't think any of the housemates deserve to be booed, and I thought the reaction of the crowd on the night of Adele's eviction was awful. I was going to be there - I glad I decided not to go. If Jade had gone out that night and had been greeted by that howling mob I think she would have been devastated and, as much as I would have liked her to have left that week instead of Adele, I think it was better for Jade that she didn't.

C4 have definitely been trying to paint Jade in a better light since then and I don't think she'll get a bad reception when she comes out now - especially as she is part fo the final four.

I'm not a Jade fan, but no-one deserves the sort of crowd reaction that Adele got. Lets hope the crowd on the final day - which I will be part of - will have some decency and let her enjoy her moment of glory.

I don't think the vote was rigged but I think the Big Brother producers got very worried by the reception Jade might have got.

Hence the more favourable editing, and the psychologist speaking to Jade about the way she was coming across on TV, breaking the cardinal rule of no information about the outside world.

When they changed the nomination process they probably expected the housemates to decide amongst themselves that PJ and Tim, the two housemates not to have faced an eviction, would be chosen. This would have given Jade longer to redeem herself.

Just a thought about bitching in the Big Brother house and allegedly two-faced housemates:

Isn't lambasting a Big Brother housemate when they are in the house, on a message board like this one, two-faced? It's not like they know what is being said and can respond to the criticism.

Pot [talking to the kettle]: ' You are black.'

if you re read my post i did not actually say everyone wanted adele out i was merely trying to make a point that just because some wanted jade out did not mean that the entire population wanted jade out and that just because i wanted adele out does not mean everyone wants her out.. if you re read it properly i think you will find you have made a mistake. and nor have i ever said jade deserves to get booed.. i think jades brilliant and deserves a massive cheer.
