Google has become a little fookwit!

DAMN IT! I just bashed my keys and typed nonsense with anger but then I deleted it... this is what holding in internet swearing does to me man!

Google has become a little bitch! (Not a swear word) It has a new get up and it is awful!

Beyond that, practically every single image on there is now presented like this - http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgur...Disch:1&itbs=1

And the url is really damn long, and in fact is too damn long for this forum or something so the images no longer work. It's pathetic, I'm using bloody altavista to look for a picture of David Carradine for my sig but that damn search engine never gives me the option to see the image full size, so I'm just stuck on the web page that's the source of the image, and I can't use the image as my sig that way. What is wrong with google? What have they done?

Harry! 01-08-2010 09:23 AM

Um what you have just shown us is normal. The image URL is :

http://film-book.com/wp-content/uplo...arradine-2.jpg

Which if you save that image and upload it on TinyPic long URL's wont be a problem.

Plus this is not BB11 related at all. Belongs in another section.

Alpertinator 01-08-2010 09:28 AM

The other sections look like this http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgur...0&tx=116&ty=98

And no on my computer it doesn't look normal. Every single image on google comes up on this new format and the url is huge, ridiculously huge, like ten lines, and as a result I can't use the damn images in any way. Your link did lead me to old google (that I miss so much), but my computer never shows me old google. I woke up one morning a few days ago, and google had completely changed... sadly now I find out that I'm alone.

Look at this - http://www.google.co.uk/images?hl=en...w=1280&bih=576

That's a page of google images... on my computer it looks all stupid ass... but on yours it'll probably still come out as old (good) google. I dunno'...

Alpertinator 01-08-2010 09:30 AM

I mean I just tried to get a picture of David Carradine as my sig by saving it to a file on my computer and then uploading it to here, and when I go to my profile my sig picture is presented as the picture of Carradino that I want, but my posts... don't have a sig... http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgur...0&tx=125&ty=41

FINALLY! ...it's the ghost of David Carradine, in the diary room.

Harry! 01-08-2010 09:34 AM

The links that you provided me are normal in how they should look. Maybe use a different browser.

It should look like this once you have uploaded it

Alpertinator 01-08-2010 09:43 AM

I don't get it, I've just been on google fiddled about with loads of options but I can't change it. It just changed itself one day and won't go back... maybe it's my damn lamptop thinkin' it's being smart.

I gotta' check google out on my mums' desktop later today, see how it looks on there. What do you mean use a different browser anyway? ...hey... maybe it's cos' I'm using firefox?

Google launches new image search
Google’s index now contains 10 billion images, and this week the company launches a new way to search them

Alpertinator 01-08-2010 09:47 AM

YAY! So refreshing to know I'm not alone.

The format actually does have advantages I'll admit, like how you can look at loads of pages of images all on one page, but for the most part it sucks.

Anyway I just used internet explorer and found good old google there... so it's mozilla then maybe...

...either that or it's the haunting of David Carradine

Alpertinator 01-08-2010 09:49 AM

Okay... so it's the start of something new... to be fair the new format is pretty cool, I just hate how when you click the image to see it full size it has this new format of coure and the url is way too long and it makes the images practically impossible to use. That's the bit that really bugs me.

Right-click over the image and select Copy Image Location then Paste as required .....

Harry! 01-08-2010 09:56 AM

You have to click on the images themself to see the image. Nothing about that has changed at all.

There's an automatic image enlargement on rollover prior to clicking .....

Josy 01-08-2010 02:17 PM

Right click on the image and choose properties then you get the shorter url, but if you using it for your avatar/sig you should probably save the image to your computer and upload to tinypic etc.

Patrick 01-08-2010 02:19 PM

Yeah got this a few weeks back too, It's annoying and look's retarded.

Google and Youtube have became bullsh*t recently with all their changes no one likes.

Using Firefox/Google Images, "Properties" is not an option .....

Miss Ivy Balls 02-08-2010 07:21 PM

It is really annoying. I have dial up and it makes ti so slow for me. I can only see the first like 20 images. The rest of them take like 5 minute to load. D:

Stacey. 02-08-2010 07:24 PM

Yeah, I don't like the new images layout thing.

This.

Jessica. 03-08-2010 09:05 AM

I like it actually, it works the same way really. I only have it on Chrome so far but hopefully I'll get it in Opera soon. It is way easier to find the images you want without having to flick through 4 or 5 pages.

This is what it looks like for anyone who hasn't seen.

Smithy 04-08-2010 04:39 PM

oh ma gawd D:

I aint got it yet, and I don't want it

Firewire 05-08-2010 12:49 AM

I like the idea of all the images on the one huge page, but I hate the way it re-directs to the website it came from.

Sarah. 05-08-2010 01:21 AM

I hate it. The old layout was fine...
