AXED Factor?

Insiders have suggested that Simon Cowell is planning to cancel next year’s X Factor in the UK, so that he can concentrate on his new American version.

Normally Simon and his panel would audition hopefuls in the spring/summer and the TV show would launch on ITV in late August. However due to Simon’s other commitments, he is said to be planning to postpone UK auditions until autumn 2011 and then air the show sometime in 2012.

A show source told The Daily Star: “Every summer viewers look forward to seeing the oddballs and freaks on telly. This is a major blow.”

Another insider added: “The plan is for Simon to oversee the Us version of X Factor first and foremost.

“He will be based in the States for the auditions in the late spring, which will be broadcast in America in September.

Yep, that's it Simon.
Ditch us for the Americans you ******ing wanker.

I read it at the weekend, not sure if it's true though, and Patrick can you actually blame him he'll carry on with the British version, just at a different time of year. The american version is likely to make him a hell of a lot more money, so of course he's going to go do that one.

I wouldnt miss it tbh, last years was one of the worst. Lost its spark now.

I'd hate it if it moved from the usual finishing time in December, I usually associate Christmas with the end of X Factor.

And what about the race [or inevitable victory] for Christmas #1? Would he really give that up?

May as well just axe it if he's going to do this...hasn't been as good since XF 2008 anyway, and with all the inconsistency this year it sounds awful.

I don't actually give a ****** that it won't be on next year though tbh, I just think it's quite pathetic that he's just ignored us for the American version that's really un-needed anyway seeing as they have American Idol.

I never really liked XF so I wouldn't give a toss if it was to go off air for good after this year lol

the title got me exited but sadly they're just postponing the Z-Factor..

At least the Christmas No1 would be free once more. A move to a different time of year would be good i think.

American Idol hasn't been relevant for years.

So basically RATM's campaign thing was all uneeded after all as Joe would of been the last XF Number 1 at Christmas lol

Although I wonder if XF wasn't beat by RATM if Simon would of kept XF for 2011 to keep up that number 1 thing.

Patrick 10-08-2010 02:32 AM

A Want a Christmas song to be Christmas Number 1 2010, would be a good way to start the new decade of Christmases.

If I'm honest though this story reeks of bull, there's a pair of golden handcuffs in place that would prevent Simon from delaying the show for a year I think. I can't see ITV allowing this.

Apparently it's been reported alot but I only heard about it when my mum told me so went and found that story, not sure how reliable it is.

I guess we'll have to wait until Simon speaks lol

It's The Daily Star. So it's therefore bull****.

*Shrug*

ILoveTRW 11-08-2010 10:28 PM

They will probably just show the US version in place of the UK version.

Scarlett. 17-08-2010 03:19 PM
