Would you liked it if Davina referred to Big Brother using the series number?

I'm rewatching the first eviction (Seems like yesterday) and Davina says 'Welcome to the first friday eviction of Big Brother 2010'

Just like on Launch with 'Welcome to Big Brother 2010!'

And in previous years it's been 'Welcome back to Big Brother 2005' 'The Winner of Big Brother 2004...' 'Who will be the first out of Big Brother 2008?'

Wouldn't it be great if all these years Davina had referred to Big Brother as the series number?

Like we, the fans have been doing for years!

Very rarely do we ever say 'Big Brother 2009' or 'Big Brother 2006' it's always BB10 or BB7 etc

Tell me if this sounds better:

'I can now reveal that the winner of Big Brother Eleven IS...'

Than this:

'I can now reveal the winner of Big Brother Two Thousand and Ten IS...'

:D
What do you think?

I prefer her saying the year, the series number seems more of a fan thing.

And I assume part of the reason she [and other shows] say the year is so that in the future if people watch the footage, they can work out how long ago it was...if it was 'Series 4' etc, they wouldn't have a clue.

I think year sounds much better, especially if we're comparing 10 to 11. Eleven's just a crap number to end on. 2010 sounds like the series in complete.

I would like it if she would have mentioned it on the launch just saying something like 'Hello and welcome to Big Brother 2010 and it's our eleventh and final series'.

Would be weird though in the future if it was BB12 in 2012 haha. My humour sucks.

The series number!

OMG you are like a mind reader... when I watch old videos it just sounds wrong, and it's confusing knowing BB 2004 is BB5.

Prefer it with the year. Has a better ring to it.

This is why I want BB12 to air in 2012 on Five though.

So it's like every year it'd be like:

Big Brother 13 - 2013
Big Brother 14 - 2014
Big Brother 15 - 2015

Woah how weird does it sound passing the 'Big Brother 11 Mark' :D

MusicMan 10-08-2010 12:53 AM

I've never noticed it until this series
Davina refers to past series' using the series number I think, but when she presents the live shows, the year has a better ring to it :)

Mystic Mock 10-08-2010 01:16 AM

i would like her to say the series number instead of the year.

but i like both.

supergirthuk 10-08-2010 01:23 AM

I'd prefer it if she wasn't even on BB anymore and hence saying nowt.

iRyan 10-08-2010 01:31 AM

It's just easier to type of 'BB11' instead of 'Big Brother 2010'

billy123 10-08-2010 06:18 AM

The year definitely sounds better.
