Too many housemates this year

That's been the major problem this year and why we are left with all these evictions in, what? 10 days

There should have been NO newbies.
Steve should NOT have gone in. Perhaps Rachel 1 or Iffe neither (boring).
Andrew and Sam should have been there from the beginning.

Just one eviction per week. So everyone gets an equal bite of the cherry when leaving - interviews, BBLB etc.

Now we have the biggest names all leaving with days of each other. Poor reward for hanging on.

... any thoughts?

I agree, to an extent.

I think BB always wanted approx this number of housemates in at this stage, which is one of the reasons theyve always replaced a walker. It becomes too quiet when there are hardly any left. Thinking back to last year for example, the last week was a non event really. So i am pleased they have as many as they do, hopefully it will stop it becoming as boring as it was then.

That being said, the quality of newbies that have gone in has been a complete disappointment. JJ2, Laura and even Jo did nothing. Neither did Rachel or Andrew imo. Theyve brought nothing to the very show they promised to spice up! I do think this is partly to do with BB putting them in so late though. Why wait so long?

Its obvious they had no choice but to introduce Sam Pepper in at such late stages, the show as on the verge of becoming a flop!

Messing around with the "housemates pick" was stupid too, BB failed to see the obvious with that, that the HMs would look after themselves and not pick HMs that appeared to have big personalities that may become more popular then themselves (Joel, Sam) instead chosing the bland and boring that wouldnt create waves (JJ2, Laura)

Theyve messed around too much and it backfired a little imo!

It just could have done with a few more evictions and there's no real sense if 1 HM walks but is replaced by 3 as was the case with Shabby but on the other hand it's been a good selection this year - except for Laura, the money grubbing ho

They just should have NEVER let the HM's pick 3 to go in and should have just sent Sam in, or sent Sam in with Andrew, Keeley and Rachel (or after Keeley was removed) NEVER EVER let the HM's have a pick or a say in who goes in.

BB should have had a vote from the PUBLIC that is what BB is about, public decision. Put VT's up online and had a phone for who goes IN.
The HM's will pick whoever will rock the boat least, which is not what viewers want to see! No on wants happy loving house that Dave claims he "worked so hard to establish"!

They let the HM's pick 3 house-mates, and they picked the 3 that cause absolutely no stir, as I said before they should have sent in the 3 who they didn't pick. Then they tried to salvage entertainment by keeping too many people in too long even with nothing happening, in the hopes something might happen. Now they have to try and scrap all this dead wood and extra HM's.
At the very least it should have been Vote to SAVE, quad eviction... who writes this stuff? Good thing they will be sacked soon...

There should never have even been a 'golden ticket' housemate, let alone be picked by housemates.

The only newbie worth going in tbh was Sam.

7 new HMs is not unreasonable with a 14 person initial cast...the only problem is it could have just as easily been 3: Andrew, Keeley, Sam. Just like the initial cast, too many useless HMs.

The Truth Is Out There! 15-08-2010 01:13 PM

Only one too many HMs - DAVE - BB should never have been "INVITED" him in there in the first place - totally irresponsible!
