Tourette\'s?

On BBLB yesterday, Pete claimed to have Tourette's Syndrome. Does anyone know if this is true?

Mike 30-01-2006 12:55 PM

He was joking, he used it as an excuse because he couldn't stop swearing.

HuggyBird 30-01-2006 12:58 PM

Thouhgt so, but I didn't want to take the proverbial just in case he was serious. My other half is borderline Tourette's and I know how horrible it is when people make jokes.

I think the fact that you started off your post by saying 'hahaha. lol.' might have been a little insensitive, nikki.

Tourette's Syndrome is a genuine medical condition, and certainly not to be laughed at or about.

I agree! It may look a bit odd but I know someone who is one of the nicest people I have ever met and she suffers from it.

That's like laughing at someone who has cancer. Not terribly funny :nono:

Sorry to anybody who feels bad about it but I find Tourette's incredibly funny and amusing aswell. If some tourette's sufferers have no sense of humour about it, I feel sorry for them.

Tourettes is undenaibly funny to pretty much anybody, whether they admit it or not! Even tourette's sufferers themselves laugh at it sometimes. You have to put up with their condition, they sometimes swear at you....so why can't you have a sense of humour about it! Provided it's all meant in a friendly way, it's fine! We've all got problems, surely some humour will help
