BBC3. Huh. Yeah. WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR?

The bad obviously outweighs the bad:

Bad:
- Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps
- Grownups
- Coming of Age
- Mongrels
- Tittybangbang
- Young, Dumb and Living Off Mum (would be good with a genuine moral underline)
- Underage and Pregnant (hardly a new phenomenon)
- World's Strict Parents (we get it: UK teens are *******. But what does this show do other than glamorise it?)
- Snog, Marry, Avoid?
- Ideal
- TV/Movie Mistakes (I love Robert Webb, but who cares?)
- Don't Tell the Bride (who cares?)
- How Not To Live Your Life
- La La Land
- Scallywagga
- The Klang Show
- Russell Howard's Good News
- The Wrong Door

(arguably) Good but not theirs:
- Family Guy
- American Dad
- Summer Heights High
- Harper's Island

SO. the good. You're gonna have to trawl back, but this channel HAS produced a few good shows.

Namely:
- Being Human
- Pulse (one of this year's pilots: has been commissioned for a full series)
- Stanley Park (one of this year's unsuccessful pilots)
- The Gemma Factor (cancelled)
- Monkey Dust (cancelled)
- Pulling (cancelled)

I liked Young, Dumb & Living Off Mum and La La Land.

Mixed feelings about Mongrels. Some episodes have made me laugh quite hard where others are completely retarded. The humour is very broad either way.

Isn't the BBC3 too much of an easy target though? What about all the crap they put on BBC1 that they try to pass off as 'drama' (Mistresses) and yet they send the fantastic, short-lived Getting On to die on BBC4.

I agree with you about 'Getting On' :( A famous example of really poor BBC1 drama was 'Material Girl' (the show about the fashion designer with her from Being Human/Sugar Rush).

BBC2 is basically the best place to go.

I liked 'Young, Dumb and Living Off Mum' and 'Movie Mistakes' and deffo 'Being Human'

At the end of the day it is watchable unlike ITV2

Didn't little Britain start on BBC3?

Anyway Two Pints was good in the early series and Grownups/Coming of Age are crude but funny :D

Lee. 06-09-2010 03:02 PM

Jesus wept.. How bad is Two Pints of Lager?! I don't know a single soul who likes it!

ILoveTRW 06-09-2010 03:03 PM

La La Land was hilarious and so was The Gemma Factor.

Scarlett. 06-09-2010 03:03 PM

I liked it when I was younger and it was in the earlier series, but as I got older, I went off it

MTVN 06-09-2010 04:06 PM

I thought "How Not to Live Your Life" was really good

Firewire 06-09-2010 04:07 PM

EastEnders repeats and EastEnders revealed are the only thing I watch on BBC3.

re: La La Land - I can see why it was funny, in a kind of "The Office" way - but the man who played the 3 characters really bugs me for some reason :p

InOne 06-09-2010 10:32 PM

Two Pints is epic

The psychic gay guy doing his audition to be a presenter made me choke, it was that funny.

I used to love Two Pints but not since Johnny died :bawling:

Yeah gotta admit it wasn't the same for me then :(

I love Two pints, harpers island and the real hustle. Other than those, I watch nothing on that channel.

This is alright. It's a bit weird but D:

Also I like the way it repeats programs from BBC1 if you forgot to watch it or missed it for whatever reason.

Yeah it's great for repeats. I actually quite like the channel. A few good docs on there too

Yeah same. If there's like two things I wanna watch at the same time then I normally watch the thing on BBC1 later on BBC3 and watch the other program at the real time it's on if that makes sense.

You should check out the DVD High Spirits. It was the show that Mark Wootton's Shirley Ghostman (the camp psychic) character first appeared in on BBC3 before being axed far too soon. Hysterically funny stuff.

Mark also did the prank show My New Best Friend which featured a similar character. Also very much worth checking out. Seems all of it is up on 4OD too.

Yeah, same here. Comes in handy :D Why I like ITV2 too

Tom4784 06-09-2010 11:52 PM

Being Human's the only true BBC3 I watch, the others are just imports like Family Guy & American Dad.
