Did she purposefully mention the wife thing?

Did she purposefully raise the issue about when Nick lied about his wife dying, probably knowing this is the last show that really can influence votes before the eviction?

I think so.

crocs 08-09-2010 09:15 AM

I don't know about that. I thought Nick was shown in a good light in last night's episode eventhough they were talking about it. Did you think he was shown in a bad light?

fruit_cake 08-09-2010 09:24 AM

Nicks like a little boy in a man's body he and nicky should get it on! and become NNicki

HBB1508 08-09-2010 09:24 AM

I think Ulrika bought the subject up on purpose but I think Nick handled it really well and came out on top in my opinion.

luminoussun 08-09-2010 09:26 AM

Yes and vanessa did on the feltz show too

It must have been hard for him poor old Nick I bet he really just wanted to go home and play with his toy soldiers and scarelectrix after BB1

I thought Nick defended his corner well and left Eureka with few possible comebacks. That was in the room basis. On the public's view I think she knifed him reasonably effectively by reminding people again of reasons not to like.

Yeah, this ^ If it was her intention it back fired, I remember thinking it was a low thing to do at the time but his explanation of it makes perfect sense and I just think it's very funny and clever.

This.
I think we may see more unusually favourable edits for Nick in the next day or two.... I won't go into the reasons why but I think BB are up to something.

if she did ,then thank you Ulrika ,what Nick said was below contempt

Livia 08-09-2010 10:23 AM

Of course Ulrika brought it up to make him look bad. Perhaps someone should ask her about all the sneaky, snidey things she's done in the past and then make sarcastic little comments all through her answer. God, I dislike that woman...

And I agree with those who say Nick handled it well.

fruit_cake 08-09-2010 11:14 AM

he did handle it well, he's had to live with being 'nasty nick' for ages now though i guess he's used to it

Very well. :)
I think it might be a "divide and conquer" tactic directed at him and Victor but I'm reserving judgement until I've at least seen tonights show. If he gets a good edit again tonight then I'm right.

what do you mean? like they want to break up Nick'n'Vics fans so neither of them will win?

Was wondering that myself as in the kissing of VicNick aswell - has Ulrika just got interesting or just decided to put a bit of effort in to try and win - whatever the reason its all too little too late for me, I wanted to see more effort throughout. You know what I would rather have had a Corin/Mario type HM that may have irritated but at least been enthusiastic. Her indifference insults me

In a nutshell yeah. Nick hasn't a chance of winning but Vic has a certain popularity so who knows. Floaters and BBLBC fans may be persuaded away from Vic to waste their votes on Nick. That's the theory. :D Tonight will reveal all.

I see you're logic but I still don't understand why BB producers would even care that much who wins, what benefit does it have for them?

fruit_cake 08-09-2010 01:11 PM

maybe if they get a more popular winner they can up the $$$$ when they sell it on?

it seems to me that one of the reasons its becoming less and less popular is the winners have had no talent or star quality at all for quite a few years now.. thats they should want Brian to win I reckon

Why did they want Josie to win?
To maximise the amount of revenue from the phone-in voters. Create a favourite and sit back and watch the voters back them in their droves. Josie took 77% of the vote realistically that was about 50% more than she needed to win. It's all about pounds, shillings and pence.

Nasty Nick winning UBB would make everything come full circle, in a sense. It would also show how much society has changed in the last 10 years.

I agree it would round it all off nicely though I'm not sure Nick has done enough this time round to win the public vote - we shall see - I personally wouldn't mind him winning for that reason.

blackparade 08-09-2010 02:30 PM

I think she bought it up on purpose to make him squirm but he gave a brilliantly frank andhonest answer and I thought, good for him!

Admittedly that would be a tidy ending..... ain't gonna happen though. :D
