They spoiled it....

They did.

They should've just ended the damn thing with their heads held high, just as a normal show. How many other shows finish without all the melodrama? I didn't want to see 2 hours of self-obsessed nostalgia. They tried to milk it, tugging at our heart strings, and that made it fall flat. For me it did, anyway.

Just let me watch the show, I thought.

Stop trying to be more than you are, I thought.

A monkey is cute, but dress it as a prostitute and it just looks silly.

InOne 11-09-2010 01:46 PM

Do you mean all the Jade thing and that?

Dr.Gonzo 11-09-2010 01:48 PM

Yeh I mean that, and then that silly song with the monobrow, and all the other junk they bulked the show out with.

Niamh. 11-09-2010 01:51 PM

hey Gonzo long time no see!! I loved it!! I'm a bit soppy though

Vicky. 11-09-2010 01:53 PM

They went far too over the top. I was actually cringing at the second part.

Dr.Gonzo 11-09-2010 01:56 PM

Hey Niax :)

I agree, Vicky. It wasn't the subject matter that bothered, but more the way it was handled and the feeling of why they did it. Far too self involved and trying to earn some cheap viewing tears.

supernoodles! 11-09-2010 01:57 PM

I know what you mean...

I liked the Jade tribute but they could have shown her photo and dates at the end of the show and that would have been enough for me to be happy.

However,I hated the whole bb funeral thing which went on and on all night,if they`d made one reference it might have been ok but they dragged it out all night.I thought that song they did at the end was pants too,it kind of made it into a joke.

Saying that I was pleased to see the turning off of the lights and the echo`s of voices.

Visage 11-09-2010 01:58 PM

I quite enjoyed all the razzmatazz. It kinda feels they had closure on the show. Some bits were cringe-worthy, but not everything is going to suit ever fan of Big Brother.

There were quite a few things that I would have like to see happen.

I guess when you've loved a show like Big Brother for years, the big party at the end, you tend to expect the show to go out with a bang.

Dr.Gonzo 11-09-2010 01:59 PM

Visage, get on the naughty step. 'Razzmatazz'? Really?

:D

InOne 11-09-2010 02:00 PM

I was quite drunk at that point to be fair so sorta sailed through it lol

Patricia4 11-09-2010 02:01 PM

I was the same it just went on and on about daft things I was glad when it finished.

LaLaLand 11-09-2010 02:04 PM

I know it was OTT - but isn't that what we like about BB?

Camp as Christmas, I loved it. One great big romp to retirement :)

The depressing parts seemed to drag though, but the Jade Goody memorial was extremely moving I thought.

Niamh. 11-09-2010 02:06 PM

I re watched it again today!! (yes I'm sad)

I'm planning to watch it all again. I wasn't really sad about it all last night, but I believe going back and re-watching, I will feel they emotions more.

Rob 11-09-2010 02:08 PM

I think it was brilliant, couldn't of asked for a better end to the show, i loved the band in the final hour.

Dr.Gonzo 11-09-2010 02:09 PM

You 'people' are far too perky. The mods should be handing out valium.

It was important to have the Jade tribute. As, had she lived, she may well have won UBB. So it was right that she should have been included.

The BB funeral was in bad taste though.

The opera thing was pure padding and the Dermot Last Supper was useless.

They should have had a long Big Brother's Best Bits at the end. That's all we needed.

Yes, I thought the same. It was important to the show as a whole and it's really a shame they didn't use the best bits as a final tribute.

MusicMan 11-09-2010 02:52 PM

Oh I loved the show last night! I thought at points it was a little bizarre but all in all it was a moving show!

The Jade tribute was beautiful and very fitting :)

I think they did it brilliantly

wilful_woodpecker 11-09-2010 03:25 PM

I was pleased with the jade tribute

the funeral thing was totally bizzare and OTT

I liked the band in the final hour

but Dermot's bit and davina's bit (with George Lamb) didn't work for me

Shardlake 11-09-2010 03:26 PM

The funeral march where Davina just walked to the stage dressed in black I thought was over indulgent and unnecessary. She looked amazing though.
