You do realise it's edited?

The most dramatic parts are shown. So the mess ups. The tears. The highs and the lows.

People keep judging on the messing up and stuff yet the contestants perform about 5 songs for each judge (at least) and they show whats best for the ratings. It's not based on what we get to see!! So don't buy into the Gamu love/hate and Cher and Katie eff ups. They probably did 4 songs flawlessly

Jords 03-10-2010 09:26 PM

Never heard this before :S

If Cher had a sore throat Id doubt that tbh.

They sing many songs. It said it last year on Xtra Factor. Not just one.

MTVN 03-10-2010 09:29 PM

I know they do at least 2 songs each (just found out today) wouldnt surprise me if they do more though. It would be a bit dumb to go through the whole process of the judges houses and only have each contestant sing 1 minute or so of a particular song, the judges wouldnt be able to good impression of them at all.

Kerry 03-10-2010 09:29 PM

Actually last year they showed the other songs they sang

Yes but this is the point of my thread. People think they DO do that and base their opinions on all they see. We only get to see the dramatics. The eff ups. Yet people don't realise they have probably spent hours with each person

Yeah, exactly. It would be especially pointless to have guest-judges if they could only form their opinion on what we were seen. At the end of last nights Cheryl was saying she agreed with Will.i.a.m's top 4, so he couldnt have just put Cher in his top 4 on that performance that we saw alone, he must have had to have seen more of her.

Jords 03-10-2010 09:36 PM

Thing is Cher had a sore throat, she couldnt sing 4 other songs surely? :conf:

But probably has at another point. It's not all in one day

Yep. I'm sure people think they only see them for the 15 minutes we get to see :joker:

Patrick 03-10-2010 09:41 PM

Exactly.

I remember last year I saw that Kandy Rain performed a few more songs at the JH's but we didn't see it.

I thought that was the case this morning until someone here mentioned a second song and it dawned on me that it wouldnt make any sense for them each to just do a 1 minute performance

Anyone know how long they're at the judges houses for? A week?

Yes Xtra Factor sometimes showed the alternative songs they sang and the judges reactions to them. They just save the dramatics for the main show.

I'm not sure how long they stay. For some reason I'm thinking a couple of weeks. But I do wonder if they actually stay there or get packed off to hotels while not filming :joker:

Mr XcX 03-10-2010 09:51 PM

Plus, can Dermot be everywhere at once? It's been literally filmed all over the world, yet he's been in every location :joker:

Mystic Mock 04-10-2010 12:59 AM

well cher must have ****ed up on every performance as she looked really nervous compared to the rest of the girls.

But she got through so obviously Cheryl saw something.

Much as everyone hates her (and the others) for getting through over Gamu she obviously had more than the others. My point it we haven't seen it. The judges have
