Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part One not getting a 3D release

Quote:

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part One will not be released in cinemas in 3D, it has been announced.

The movie, which was filmed in 2D, was due to be converted and released in both formats in
conventional and IMAX cinemas nationwide on November 19.

However, Warner Bros has now announced that the filmmakers were unable to complete the
transition into 3D for the entire film, and have now abandoned plans for the technology.

A statement said: "We do not want to disappoint fans who have long-anticipated the conclusion of this extraordinary journey.

"We, in alignment with our filmmakers, believe this is the best course to take in order to ensure that our audiences enjoy the consummate Harry Potter experience."

Director David Yates said of the announcement: "This decision, which we completely support,
underscores the fact that Warner Bros has always put quality first."

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part One was to be the third film of the series to be released in IMAX 3D, and the first to include a conventional 3D print.

The studio has confirmed that the final instalment of the franchise, Harry Potter And The
Deathly Hallows: Part Two, remains on schedule to be released in 2D and 3D formats on July 15, 2011.

LOL Fail.

They will look like such wankers, every movie at the cinema in 3D looking sexy and Harry Potter is like 'Hey guys what's with all the glasses?' and other movies are like 'Bitch Please, 3D Is in now' and then HP fans look like idiots.

Anyway,
At least PT2 is in 3D.

Not really bothered, quality is better than 3D.

It's a good thing it isn't, If it wasn't filmed in 3D it shouldn't be shoehorned into the film in post production since it never looks as good as a film that was made specifically for it. I prefer 2D anyway.

The only reason so many films are in 3D now is because the studios can charge more as 3D tickets are more expensive.

LOL. The people sat wearing the glasses look like wankers.
I'm glad they've not bothered, 3D is overrated. You sit there wearing the glasses for a couple of hours just for a couple of objects or lines to look a bit like they're protruding every half hour or so. Rest of the time the image looks pretty much 2D. Waste of time and money.

3d sucks, especially if you wear glasses just to see

Shaun 09-10-2010 03:23 PM

thank god for that.

3D = a serious bane in my life.

3D is overrated anyway.

Vladimir 09-10-2010 04:23 PM

great! i hate watching films in 3d.

Stephanie 09-10-2010 04:25 PM

good. i pm hate 3d.

I can't stand 3D, half the time it's just a complete waste of money anyways. Sometimes there's absoloutley no difference between 2D and 3D films (Avatar, Toy Story 3, Street Dance etc..) except the fact that they add about £4 on!!

King Gizzard 09-10-2010 04:32 PM

Its got nothing on proper 3d at Imax's, where they do specialized 3d shows with dinosaurs and shiz

Cinema 3d is merely it being a little bit out of the screen

I wonder if it would be as popular if it didn't have the indie kid glasses?

Ninastar 09-10-2010 04:36 PM

3D makes my eyes hurt

Princess 09-10-2010 04:41 PM

Was going to see in it 2D anyways.
