Brian Friedman leaves XF UK for XF USA next year...

To paraphrase judge Louis Walsh, it's not all about you, Cheryl Cole.

Nope, massive congratulations to the first confirmed celeb to sign on the dotted line for Simon Cowell's latest baby, US X Factor.

The British show's choreographer, Brian Friedman, 33, pictured above, is set to work backstage on the US version after signing his contract late last week.

"It's going to be huge," he told me. "I can't wait.

"Simon's going all-out to make it an incredible series and he's promised to get some massivename stars on the judging panel.

"I'd love to be a judge but, unfortunately, I don't think that's going to happen!" But, I can reveal, one of the T&Cs of the new deal is that celebs cannot sign up to both the US and UK versions of the programme.

This means that should our Chezza, 27, be offered the gig, she would have to ditch the UK X Factor.

Decisions, decisions...

I'll miss Brian, even if he isn't all that great :(

And it's interesting that celebs can't sign up to both series...so maybe no Cheryl next year? Or Dermot [which could mean Christine Bleakley would become the new XF UK host - God help us]? What about Simon? Unless he's excluded from the rule?

Well thank God for that.

gtf you filthmonger

Hopefully the celeb bit is true, Dermot won't be missed. I can't see Cheryl going to America and ditching the UK personally if it's true about being on both shows.

Me neither; I mean both Katy Perry and Nicole Scherzinger were well received when they featured on the panel here, and both would fill the role that Cheryl has on the UK X Factor if it went over to the USA... I'd love to see someone like Shania Twain as a judge on it; she'd appeal to the country market that's hugely popular over there.

If Bleakley takes over as host.....good lord.

I like her but shes ****e on Daybreak and would be even worse on this. I think Cat Deeley should do it

Glad Brian is going, he's pointless anyway and it just seems as though Simon felt obliged to give him a job after sacking him from the judging panel and hasn't got round to getting rid of him yet

I don't think that bit about being unable to judge both the American and British is entirely true because it is possible to catch a plane back and forth and Simon won't be leaving the UK panel? So if Cheryl does go, I'm sure she'll be able to judge both but in all honesty I don't think she'll get the job now. Apparently Mariah Carey is interested and she's a bigger name.
