Severe Storm to affect UK late Sunday into Monday

It's been a while since we had one of these but an extreme Atlantic storm has set it's sights for the UK

Warning from Metlink Weather Centre

Quote:

A strong Atlantic storm will bring very heavy rain and very strong winds and gales to most of the UK late on Sunday and through into Monday. Risk of disruption is high due to the high risk of falling trees and powerlines. The Scottish Mountains may experience severe blizzards from time to time.

To be honest, I wouldn't complain as much if we had decent summers... You know, June July and August pretty much guaranteed to be hot and sunny, but at the mo winter seems to last from October until April then we have a few months of overcast skies (albeit milder) then back to winter again!

I need to emigrate I think! :)

Great news, thanks for the heads up David Spritz.

Should this be hitting the North West?

I LOVE the diverse English weather.

Tom4784 06-11-2010 12:57 PM

I was planning on going out on Monday, oh well if it's bad I can just put it off. I do love it when it's stormy outside and you're nice & warm inside.

Kerry 06-11-2010 10:11 PM

Christ, why do people moan? Storms are great. Don't like it, stay the feck inside

Callum 06-11-2010 10:16 PM

Doubt it'll be as bad as your making out

Patrick 06-11-2010 10:23 PM

Love it.

I especially love what they said about Scotland, when they get snow Northern Ireland tends to straight after

Can't wait hope it's like sf bad and a tree falls in my garden and we have to stay off or something

Sheffield totally flooded in two freak storms in recent years. Not sure how anyone can say I'm disrespectful. I was in the thick of it. But as far as storms go you have to say we get off lightly as far as the rest of the worlds concerned. If you're worried, stay home and keep as safe as you can. Just be sensible

I am very worried about the storm coming my way and blowing my house down, is there anything you can say to me to put my mind at ease?
