Okay, so I'm a fan of Shayne, but I've seen this clip posted around various forums for years now but never actually bothered to watch it [and I don't remember it from the Final either]. But then I finally did the other day, and ***** me, I see what the fuss is about...

I think he was a worthy winner that year. But talent contests are not the real world.

In the real world you're up against lots of tough global acts and need actual sales. You also need personality and good songs. I think he sadly lacks these two things.

Also, some acts need to win to stand any chance of success(Shayne, Leon..) whereas other acts(Cher, Diana vickers) would be better served by not winning as it would be too constricting for their style. Theyre better as underdogs with no pressure to succeed.

That was his best performance definitely, and he's amazing vocally, I just don't think the route he's gone down with his music show that off. Generic cheesey R&B/pop.

Shane has always had a very good voice. Added to that, he's now developed quite a lot of sophistication and style. I really like him a lot. Also, he is very single-minded about his career. He deserves to do well.

Shayne clearly went for the pop RnB(Timberlake) vibe with his career. It failed. His new record is more pop and will also fail.
