Why Katie should STAY.

In the interests of fairness we should also have a why Katie shoud stay thread. But, unfortunately, I doubt she will get much of a fair hearing on this forum.

(1) Having to contend with a total exageration of her lack of vocal ability. She can sing OK, but once a bandwagon starts it is easy to jump onto it and give her a good head pummelling. Even if her vocals were the best on Saturday, most on here would say it was crap. We never get any honest assessment from the Katie hate camp. I admitted that Treyc had a good sing off, even though I usually have to reach for the ear plugs in her case.

(2) IMO her vocal is current and smooth. An easy listen. Not just me, Simon and Louis think the same.

(3) Having to contend with negative press coverage.

(4) Has got the Xfactor, and as most agree, one of the most interesting contenders.

(5) Whether you like her or not she does make the show more interesting.

Even Matt agrees that she is amazing coping with the onslaught. Her confidence is shattered but she carries on. How about a bit of sympathy as opposed to sticking the boot in.

2011 is the year of Katie Waissel

You do realise that having the X-Factor means that people like you?

I would love to think so. What a great story...the underdog rises from adversity. I thought the British public got behind an underdog and didn't kick them when they were down.

Can't disagree that she is not liked, infamous rather than famous. Just clinging onto a glimmer of hope that she can turn this around.

It's almost like a Biblical epic as the public try and crucify this beautiful innocent. Good job God has sent three Guardian Angels....Louis, Simon and Cheryl.

There are a few acts that should go before Katie - 1 Direction, Wagner, Mary, etc.

One Direction is a close call, but Mary and Wagner are entertaining. Perhaps someone needs to tell Katie that's what she is supposed to be?

ive gave katie some good scores in the past but last week treyc beat her on two performances imo,and thats the sing off performance and the aerosmith song.

Likeable is boring, its better to be hated and remembered then likeable and flop. This time next year Katie will still be remembered where as others wont.

Likeable is boring? so all those succesful pop stars in the charts right now are all boring then, yeah?

hated and remembered or likeable and a flop? remembered as being what? unlike able? I'd rather be forgotten than remembered for the wrong reasons thanks!

I liked her voice to start with but have come to realise that it has no strength to it and actually sounds croaky at times. And the fact she struggles to remember lyrics seems to suggest she doesnt put the hours in, so is a lazy singer not a good one.

(2) IMO her vocal is current and smooth. An easy listen. Not just me, Simon and Louis think the same.

Simon & Louis seem to change with the wind....and her vocal is never smooth....not by a long shot. Gravelly, croaky more like.

(3) Having to contend with negative press coverage.

Jeez..if she cant handle it now, with all the assistance and mollycoddling they get....then showbiz aint for her. And..she wants to relocate to the states where its a lot harder to impress the media if your a foreigner.

(4) Has got the Xfactor, and as most agree, one of the most interesting contenders.

That is a matter of opinion, and the majority public seem to disagree with you. Perhaps Ex-factor is her best option.

(5) Whether you like her or not she does make the show more interesting.

again..matter of opinion....im someone who wants to listening to good singers, not whining swearing desperados.
