I don't understand Simon's logic...

He probably wanted to save Katie over all the good acts so that she makes the tour, yeah? But WHY when obviously no-one likes her? She's been in the bottom two, five times now, so no-one's gonna specifically want to see her.

GiRTh 14-11-2010 10:30 PM

He bought out her contract in the US. He has an invested interest in her progression to at least the tour.

MTVN 14-11-2010 10:30 PM

No it's only her 4th time and she's only been saved by the judges twice.

It's pretty easy to see what his logic is - Katie's interesting, she gets people talking, she makes headlines. Noone really cares about Aiden

because shes a talking point sadly.

Shes topping the favourite poll on here atm, I think people are starting to have a change of heart about her.

Jack_ 14-11-2010 10:33 PM

It's only her fourth time.

And the reason? She's quirky, interesting and controversial - all vital to the success of this show. And although I didn't expect to be saying it, she did actually do a better sing-off performance than Aiden. So it was a fair decision.

Patrick 14-11-2010 10:33 PM

She's entertaining.

Zippy 14-11-2010 10:36 PM

I reckon he just knws that Aiden stood no chance of winning so decided that Katie is more interesting to keep on the show.

Which she is.

katie has hit the bottom 2 the most any x factor contestant ever,so no it wasnt a fair decision.

About her being entertaining and a talking point - as Simon ALWAYSD says - he wants a recording artist.

Simon Cowell has turned in to the biggest bum licking hypocrite and for me this year is actually ruining the show

Him and Cheryl's smug, on screen love in, which in fact is quite rude, especially when others are talking, plus his obvious bias towards certain acts despite the public's feelings is just too much for me this year and i am finding myself week on week getting more fed up of a show I have watched and loved since day 1 of the 1st series

I can see why he is doing it all but in my opinion if that is what he feels he needs to do then he is too close to the situation and should step down as a judge as it is just extreme bias now and not constructive to a good environment for the other contestants

joeysteele 14-11-2010 10:43 PM

In the bottom 2 for 4 times in 6 weeks, that works out about doing a bad job for 65% of the time and a better job for 35% of the time.

Thats failure by near 2 to 1 and I think we need Alan Sugar as a judge because no doubt at all she would have been fired by him for statistics like that.

And? Once the Bottom Two is confirmed it's out of the hands of the public and their opinion is totally and utterly irrelevant unless of course it goes to Deadlock. Once the Bottom Two is confirmed it's at the discretion of ITV, Syco, the producers and the Judges who goes - not the public. OFCOM even ruled the same regarding last weeks 'controversy'. If people don't like their favourites leaving to Katie/being in the Bottom Two, their fanbases should vote for them.

There's no rule on how many times an act can be saved - as I said that's at the discretion of the Judges/whoever else. As it happens Katie actually performed better than Aiden in the sing-off - so to those people who believe that's how it should be decided who stays, the right person stayed, eh?

bbfan1991 14-11-2010 10:52 PM

Katie is bringing publicity to the show and controversy, he paid her out of the record deal and wanted her in the tour to get some of that investment back;).

Last year Jedward brought a lot of press attention to the show and got people talking and on camera Simon slagged them off but behind closed doors him and the producers were loving what was going on;).

joeysteele 14-11-2010 10:55 PM

Jedward only got one second chance though, then they were put out, they were only in the bottom 2 twice, this woman has been there for 4 out of only 6 weeks for goodness sake.

Jedward never came bottom of the voting, even on the week they left against Olly it was Mr Murs who had the least votes had it gone to deadlock. They only got up to 15% each week and against Lucie they had 9.2% of the vote and she had 8.8.

.

When she first auditioned she already had a contract and had made a jazz album in the States. The show producers ie Simon Cowell got her out of that contract.

Im really shocked when I saw who the bottom two was i thought it was certain katie would be going. Cant believe aiden has gone. Katie I do like though and she was really good in the sing off. Im just annoyed wagner is still in. If wagner was gone and aiden still in, that would be an amazing final 8

Z 14-11-2010 11:33 PM

Ignoring the track record in the competition (which is hard to; but the judges [well, Dannii Minogue - the rest of them have an agenda] base their decision on the sing off) it seems to me that Katie outsang Aiden by a country mile - he was all over the place both vocally and physically, he was wandering the stage like a lost puppy, whereas Katie stood there and sang. It's funny: last week her dramatics saved her against Treyc; this week her understated performance saved her against Aiden. You could tell Simon would save Katie when he was deliberating; his hesitant behaviour spoke volumes. At least Louis took it to deadlock and made it a fair result; but again it's a travesty that they went in a different order to the usual (should have been Cheryl/Dannii, Cheryl/Dannii, Simon/Louis, Simon/Louis).

as i will say again the only time katie has vocally performed better than aiden was in the sing off,and im annoyed at simon more than anything as him saving katie helped send it to deadlock.

and i find it quite annoying that people keep saying its only her foruth time, yes 4 times in 6 weeks.:joker:

I don't think she did outsing him in the sing off, they were about the same, they were entirely different songs.

As I said before for near 65% of her time on X Factor she has been in the bottom 2, thats only about 35% with more favourable results.
Thats failure on a rather grand scale in any logical book.

Beastie 14-11-2010 11:55 PM

Paije will be gone next week. He will be in the "death spot".

MARK MY WORDS.
